    Some people don't really care that much about getting better. The people don't NEED to get better.

    I mean, the thing you're doing is kind of like (well actually is identical to) forcing - forcing, not allowing them to do otherwise, a player to do something, even though it is benficial.

    Your way just isn't fair to the noobs playing.

    It's just a far worse option.

    AOK or AOM?

    Oh sure, AOK is more limited in terms of what it can do in terms of modding. I'm not denying that! But I'm not a modder, you see. I can tell a modder (like David) would prefer AOM, but someone who plays games (especially campaigns) like me, would prefer AOK.

    OT: Centurion_13, did you know you are in Gaurdians Birthright? Your slave is echowinds! (Though I don't recommend playing it until it is bug-free because once you play it once, you can't play it again - well you can, but it will be SOOOOO boring)

    I know there is a lot of discussion on which is "better" AOK or AOM? People seem pretty evenly split, so I decided to make a topic. Please no flames here - a thread was made similiar to this on AOM heaven and it got closed because of... actually spam, not flames, but there were flames in that thread too. No spam either.

    I prefer AOK. The campaings are far better IMO. There are more and they are more challenging, therefore more fun. There is also more balance in AOK. Granted there is more variety in AOM, but Greek civs are more similiar than two different civs in AOK (that is, the Huns and Spanish (two random civs) are more varied than Zeus and Possy (two random civs of the same "pantheon)). The editor is also easier to use in AOK. In addition, in AOK you can make two of the same type of unit have different attack (for example one militia have 8 attack, another 10, while in AOM you can't do that). Finally, AOM lacks a building like a castle. Palaces/Hill Forts/Fortess/Midgol Strongholds are nothing.

    Don't get me wrong, I think AOM is awesome... well... it's okay... it's not terrible (just kidding, I like AOM), I just prefer AOK.

    EDIT: Oh yeah! One flaw of both games are that they are not historically/mythologically (the first for AOK, the last for AOM) accurate. I mean in AOK, for example, the Genghis Khan scenario about Persia, where you assassin the shah before the war began?!?! Come on! The reason the campaign against Persia started was because the shah ordered some traders from Genghis Khan to be assasined. The shah was killed only after the campaign.

    In AOM, there were many mythological innacuries (many Chimares/Hydras/Medasus/etc, the campaign (No Hector at Troy!!!?!?!?!?! Arkantos!??!?!,, worship Apollo, but not Artemis, Collosus a MU?, Ajax surving the Trojan War?, etc.)

    To the first question: I don't really understand what you mean. I think you mean why I think they are funny. It is hilarious!!!! Well actually, CodeOptimist's flame war was an exaggeration of their stupidity. Those types of flame wars will only happen when n00bs communicate. And even then it won't go that stupid. But it still is really funny.

    To the second question: Well there are a lot of them, but one that comes to mind is when Fun_Clan_Zero flamed Yooda about his hilarious Pegasus Rush becuause he (FunClan_Zero) was mad that Yooda's thread (Pegasus) beat his crappy thread (about Nereids).
