Do you prefer messing with software (tinkering with OS settings, installing Firefox (), hunting spyware), or with hardware (upgrading, overclocking, building)? Why?
I like both, it just depends what projects I'm working on at the moment.

I don't think the last example is a multi-party situation,
I think its a past tense.
Fine, it's past tense. Still a valid example though.

I hate the grouping feature on the taskbar too - that feature is turned off quickly on my machines.
LOL, I've been starting to middle-click on things outside of Firefox too! That great little shortcut is a little habit-forming

Yeah, what happened? I *have* had an instance of spyware embedding itself in the TCP stack (or something to that effect ) and messing up network/Internet access, but that only happened once.

In your case, then, I'd recommend you upgrade the memory (to 512MB or more) and get a larger hard drive, if you can afford it. The memory is crucial if you will be working with a lot of applications at the same time. As fyhuang stated, 256MB is becoming a 'recommended minimum' for Windows XP.
(My Mom's computer runs XP Home on 128MB of RAM, but it's not a pretty sight )
