Ill look into Mandriva, Suse, Ubuntu or Fedora Core.
I dont forsee much problem with the hard ware, they're worked on knoppix so hopefully I shouldnt have too much trouble with one of those.

So I've got 200GBs worth of hard drives partitioned into 4 drives. so here is how I have it set up (incase that info is needed).
Hard drive1 (80Gb)
C drive (39.3Gb, 36.9 used up)
windows installed on this, and a lot of old crap I should clear out)
D drive (35.1Gb, 27.4 used up)
I just use this one for back ups etc needs a bit of clearing up too though but im not too woried about it.
Hard drive2 (120Gb)
G drive (77.4Gb, 709Mb used)
relatively new, fairly empty
H drive (70.8Gb, 84.6Mb used)
relatively new, fairly empty, just a few drivers I downloaded stored here
(I plan on installing linux here unless advised against it)
so anyway as you can see I have plenty of room and I always wanted to instal linux, I just didnt have room. well now I have room with my new hard drive; I might as well use it and instal linux on it.
so basicaly this thread is for me to ask questions and get help with choosing and installing a linux distro.
obviously I am a beginer so I dont want somehthing that I have to know a ton of commands to do anything. although if possible I would like one that will allow me to do some of the more advanced stuff if I want to so I dont have to isntall a different distro.
next I need to know about setting up a duel boot. I know a few other people here have had trouble with it, so what I need to know about that. I dont run on a dell bios though and that seems to make it hard.
and finaly, some tips on installation or useful linux programs I should have
would be appreciated.

wel basicaly it's about acivilisation that has used time as its sole energy source for thousands years without any disasters etc whileall the time their usage grows exponentialy as their population grows and their technology becomes more powerful.' While theydonot know how to travel through time, they do know how to speed it up, slow it down or even stop it.
a rebellion begins in the empire the civilisation has made and a terrible war begins using temporal weapons. whcih are by far the greatest weapon of mass destruction ever.
Eventualy, their strain on the temporal energy becomes so great that it
can no longer replenish the energy and is dwindling in their area. They know that if there is no time energy in an area, time stops and eventualy if time is not restored, a time implosion will occur.
I time implosion is time's way of healing itself in the even that time is stopped. In short, when an implosion occurs, it wipes everything within the area from ever existing and because they never it existed, time would not have been drained and it goes back to normal.
obviously, this civilisation doesnt want this to happen, so they must stop or at least reduce using all their technology and find an alternative power source capable of sustaining thier population which has grown solarge that temporal energy was practicaly the only way of supplying so much energy at once.
so in short it comes down to a story about searching for alternative energies, or face being wiped from history.

well with my fictional thoery, the glass ship would have somehow punctured the space-time seal and that area would lose time particles thus slowing time in that area, but time is relative, depending on where you would change how you percieve it and how long it takes.

Reading back through it, I realise I forgot to say that it was for a sci-fi story im writing so obviously it doesnt need to be true, but time is very interesting to talk about anyway so please continue with the discussion, im getting some good ideas to improve my story from it as well.

Below is the main part of a theory I am developing about what time is and how it works. as you can see I say time has an energy (Temporal Energy, Te for short) to move it forward and that altering the amount of Te particles in an area will chenge the speed of time. I have done some searches and been able to find answers using this theory for many time related questions. Please have a read of it, comment, give ideas or suggests, ask questions or whatever because obviously I would like to to get this theory as accurate as possible before I go onto the next part which is using Temporal energy for other things for example power, faser than light travel amd possibly anti gravity.
time must have energy because time is always moving forward moving it from one moment to the next like frames on a movie. We called this energy Temporal Energy or Te for short. we conlcuded that itwas likely a particle energy. from there we devoloped a theoretical model of time.
Time is like a river. when a rock or something disturbs it, the particles around the edge of it move faster to keep up with the rest of the stream. thus creating distortion. if the rock allowed the particles to go through, they
particles would be slower when passing through the rock. We measured the speed of time by the amount of these Te particles in a place at any time we used a cm cubed. we called these seconds. So time is measured
by seconds/second where 1s/s is normal time and 0 (which is absolute) is stopped time. theoreticaly by adding more particles per cm3 you would be speeding up time. assuming there is no limit to the amount of seconds/cm3
then you can infinately speed up time.
Now time also acts like movie film. Every moment is a frame. no matter how small you divide it is always made of frames. well what is inbetween the frames I ask you? whatever it is, how come we arent stuck on that one frame
for all eternity. well that is because the frames (the moments) are being pulled along by the Te particles. the different images on all the frames is caused by various other energies/forces, eg someone waving their arm might be
the result of kinetic energy.
Now on top of this river lays the movie film. It is pulled allong by the current of particles, the more particles the faster it is pulled in an area. so if one area has more than another this obviously leads to distortion in that area and
a local temporal difference. That being said, the film acts like a liquid would and moves like a liquid so around rocks ( time bubbles), just outside the bubble the film would move faster where as over the rock it would be slowed.
Distortions are the result of interfereing with the number of Te particles/cm3. Such intereferance can be caused by breaking the space-time seal via artificial means (energy beams) or naturally (travelling nearly at the speed
of light with mass enough to rip the space-time seal. both of these would slow down time, however if Te particles were pumped into a hole one could possibly speed up time. Alternatively, if one removed Te particles faster than they could be replaced, eventualy I believe a temporal implossion would occur; I don't really know what would happen but I doubt it would be good.
so any ideas or suggestions, what abouot your own ideas on time? well post away.

I'll just put it this way, its going to be hard to beat. not just the specs but the list of games, the customisability and extreme moddability in that it is designed that modding games should be a common feature.

I've seen plenty of other ocmpanies which I find reliable which more features and are cheaper. people buy ipods for the brand name.

I agree hlo: combat evolved is an average game by todays standards however if you compare it to the time it was made, it was pretty good graphicaly etc.
Halo2 on the other hand isnt.
halo2+xbox live is awesome.
I love it so much I just got the 9 new multiplayer maps to expand my halo 2 experiance even further on xbox live. The community is awesome and the gameplay is great.
The AI in the campaign is pretty good, it uses sense eg sound, sight as well so you can hide from them, sneak up on them and suprise them. they behave prety smartly. The story is fascinating and draws you into the halo universe.
Ultimately, xbox live is where it realy really shines. I am yet to come accross a multiplayer fps experiance which compares to it.
If you dont like it, then fine you dont have to, but htere is no need to go and yell at people not to buy it, they can make up their own minds without your help. Also you should detail some decent and clear reasons.

That was my favourite game, I got a rocket launcher and hid up on the cliff behind some rocks, behind their base. The enemy needed to get into vehicles to win the game (which ended up tieing btw) so they kept getting in them while I kept blasting them to bits. after a few shots I'd move and get some more rockets then reposition somewhere new and do it again. I got most of 14 kills in one life. My favourite moment was watching a rocket burst from the launcher and follow a banshee which had just taken off. the banshee tried to dodge it but failed and was uterly destroyed. Time had seemed to slow when that happened and I cn remember it quite clearly as the rocket soard for what seemed a very dramatic/climatic few seconds following to their mutual destruction.

Im going with the xbox 360. I was very disapointed by nintendo with the gamecube and I have nothing against playstations however I find that my xbox looks better and plays better (not to mention often has better games) then my ps2.
The specs for the xbox 360 are pretty amazing and some of the screenshots I've seen look great.

if an enemy melee unit attacks an archer. the archer will not be able to respond with its own melee attack just like age of empires etc.
ander all circumstances (unless modded I suppose) an archer can only perform economic duties or use its ranged weapon.
It seems simple enough to me
