  1. A question to the Developers:

Will water level be static in a map?

It would be amazing to have ebb and flow.

Imagine this gameplay event: A celtic fortress ( located f.e. in bretagne, cfr. Mont Saint Michel), that is only accesible on land with ebb tide.

  2. Play Rise & Fall for ideas on how to implement an "FPS" mode.

About interiors: I think units sizes / building sizes will need to be reworked in order to have 'exact' proportions... Otherwise units get stuck in the ceiling of a house, or the walls are not wide enough etc...

Alltogether i'm not a big fan of this mode, but i'm sure others are.

  3. Stonehenge is very iconic and may be not the best choice for a celtic temple. ( keep as a prop ?)

On the other hand I agree with MythosRuler, a big oak tree would look stupid.

Compromise: what about a small remnant of megalitic culture that is found in France as well as England: Menhirs or Dolmen

    Pros:

    - More realistic ( because wide spread across celtic territories)

    - looks nice no?

  4. I disagree, SMST.

It is true that celts worshipped their (hundreds of) gods in nature f. e. groves, etc.

However, it is also true that they often built corridors around some 'places of worship', mostly a simple palisade wall. Druids were responsible for these (maintenance, sacrifices) ( Nemeton , in greek I think) So it became a sort of primitive temple. Because of this (wooden materials) almost no remains are left of course, especially because the Romans heavily persecuted and wiped out druidism.

Whether the Celts actively worshipped their gods in pre-existing Megalithic remnants is something I should delve deeper into.

  5. Now that we 're talking about docks :)

When i look at the Veneti ship , and read Caesar's description there are some differences.

"For their ships were built and equipped after this manner. The keels were somewhat flatter than those of our ships, whereby they could more easily encounter the shallows and the ebbing of the tide: the prows were raised very high, and in like manner the sterns were adapted to the force of the waves and storms [which they were formed to sustain]."

I dont know whether Caesar is correct or the existing model should be adapted... :ok:

  6. 1. Its definitely an improvement, Mythos. I cant find the old dock in the editor though. Would be nice as eyecandy / house on water.

    2. Would it be possible to make a new prop ( or more) by using the wooden 'bridge' of the new and old dock ? So we can make docks with longer piers, or a village on water etc...

    Thanks

  7. It's actually Murus Gallicus ( my mistake) ( as described by Julius Caesar, ..)

No, it is not based upon a historical site. It's also not even placed up on a hilltop, the celts usually did for strategic reasons :ok: ( first time i ve used the Atlas editor, next time ill try and make a real oppidum)

The celts also used pallisades, i hope they will be included as well ( or made by community), as a fast and easy way of defense.

  8. @ Mythos

You r proposing a system similar to that of age of empires III, it seems.

    A few things:

    - do you want tribes to have passive AI soldiers, defending their village? Thus making you calculate the benefits of conquering this tribe or 'nation' outpost.

If you want this village to be destroyable : how will this work? will the village be one entity to destroy?
