  1. I thought that you might quit, I know I was annoying sometimes to you and community I apologise for that and I wish this is a joke but you sound dead serious. You did a great job, you took 0ad to this level. hope the new project manager take 0ad to the next level.
  2. @MarcusAureliu#s May be you should take it to the Computer Service Center I usually get help from Service Center dudes after some bad incidence of me trying to be the nerd and fixing it myself. even though I know what to do! If it is a hardware related issue I avoid touching my PC. if it is cleaning parts better ask professionals handle it because they have more experience.
  3. A system can become slow for a variety of reasons, and it may require some troubleshooting to identify the specific cause. Here are some common reasons why a system might be slow and steps you can take to address them: Insufficient Hardware Resources: Low RAM: If your system has insufficient RAM (Random Access Memory), it can slow down when running memory-intensive applications. Consider upgrading your RAM if possible. CPU Limitations: An older or less powerful CPU might struggle with modern software and tasks. Upgrading your CPU or getting a more powerful computer might be necessary. Software Issues: Too Many Background Processes: Check for unnecessary background processes or applications running. Close applications you're not actively using to free up system resources. Software Bloat: Over time, the accumulation of software, especially if it includes unnecessary startup programs, can slow down your system. Uninstall or disable unused or unnecessary software. Malware and Viruses: Malware and viruses can consume system resources and slow down your computer. Run a thorough antivirus and antimalware scan to remove any threats. Disk Drive Problems: HDD vs. SSD: If you're using a traditional hard disk drive (HDD), switching to a solid-state drive (SSD) can significantly improve system speed. HDDs are slower, especially for tasks like booting up the OS and loading applications. Fragmentation: Regularly defragmenting your HDD can help improve its performance. Outdated or Incompatible Drivers: Ensure that your system has up-to-date drivers for all hardware components, especially the graphics card and chipset drivers. Overheating: If your CPU or GPU is overheating, it can lead to throttling and reduced performance. Ensure that your system is adequately cooled and free from dust. Operating System Issues: Software Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up-to-date with the latest updates and patches. Reinstall the OS: As a last resort, you may consider reinstalling the operating system. This can help if there are deep-seated software issues. Storage Capacity: Low disk space on your system drive (usually the C: drive) can slow down your computer. Free up space by deleting unnecessary files or moving them to an external drive. Network Issues: A slow internet connection can make it seem like your whole system is slow, especially for online activities. Check your network connection speed. Background Services: Some services and processes may run in the background and consume system resources. You can manage these through the Windows Task Manager or a similar utility on your operating system. Hardware Faults: If your hardware is failing, it can cause performance issues. Check for any hardware diagnostics or error messages that may indicate a problem. Multitasking: Running too many applications simultaneously can overwhelm your system's resources. Try closing unnecessary applications when you don't need them. Start by identifying the most likely causes based on your system's symptoms, and then take appropriate steps to address them. If you're not comfortable troubleshooting on your own, consider seeking assistance from a professional or a knowledgeable friend who can help diagnose and fix the issue.
  4. Thank you for providing detailed information about your computer. Based on the provided logs, here are some potential reasons why your computer might be running slowly: Operating System: You are running Windows 11, which can be demanding on system resources. Ensure that your system meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Hardware Specifications: Your system has an Intel Core i5-4210H CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 840M graphics card. While these components are decent, they may not be sufficient for running resource-intensive tasks smoothly. Consider upgrading your RAM and, if possible, your CPU for better performance. Video Driver: Make sure your NVIDIA video drivers are up-to-date. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause performance issues. Background Processes: Check for unnecessary background processes and applications that might be consuming system resources. You can open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to view running processes and end any that are unnecessary. Disk Usage: High disk usage can slow down your computer. Ensure that you have enough free disk space on your hard drive. Consider using Windows' built-in disk cleanup tool to remove temporary files and free up space. Malware and Viruses: Perform a full system scan with a reputable antivirus program to rule out malware or viruses that could be causing performance issues. Startup Programs: Disable unnecessary startup programs. Many applications start with Windows, consuming resources. You can manage startup programs in the Task Manager or the System Configuration utility (msconfig). Graphics Settings: Lowering the resolution and graphics settings in games or resource-intensive applications can improve performance. Driver Updates: Ensure that all drivers, including chipset and network drivers, are up-to-date. BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your motherboard. Sometimes, BIOS updates can improve system stability and performance. Temperature: Overheating can cause performance throttling. Make sure your laptop is adequately cooled and clean from dust. Memory Configuration: It appears you have two memory modules. Ensure they are properly seated and recognized by the system. Misconfigured or faulty RAM can cause slowdowns. Background Services: Review and disable unnecessary Windows services that might be running in the background. SSD Upgrade: If your laptop doesn't already have an SSD, consider upgrading to one. SSDs provide a significant boost in performance compared to traditional HDDs. Software Bloat: Over time, software can accumulate on your computer. Uninstall programs and applications that you no longer use. Try these steps one by one and monitor your computer's performance after each change. This should help you identify and address the specific issue causing your computer to run slowly.
  5. you should ensure you are using Nvidia GPU the intel GPU cannot handle 0AD and intel uses System RAM which is slow. Nvidia has its own dedicated memory for graphics. also check if you are getting lag only in Multiplayer if so its not your problem, it's some other player with BAD PC.
  6. laptops get really slow when they get overheat, are you in a hot climate?
  7. @Itms sign my new change to the mod plz @Stan` https://mod.io/g/0ad/m/0ad-maximalists-mod
  8. @Stan` please sign this mod in mod.io, players are waiting.
  9. all are broke people in 0AD @Stockfish , I had to leave my house to find a better job, but I can't carry my Desktop PC, That is the only capable machine that can handle 0AD, I have a laptop but I don't think it will last longer If I run 0AD on it, also to do YouTube I need my PC and laptop to record or stream with minimum lag possible. I am bit sad now, I can't noob my teammates to Oblivion now, they are playing 0AD without my noobness and I think they are happy about it.
  10. I am now in a different city, don't have my game PC with me. I decided I am not going back to home, so I can't play or help streaming the game until I can afford a new game PC in my new location. I would like to see more Sunday pro games even if I am unable to participate until I get enough money to buy stuff. It's been only a week or so, withdrawal symptoms of 0AD is kicking hard. I want my favorite drug back in my life so bad. but life is pushing me here and there.
  11. may be we can ask for a registration fee and increase prize money or give prizes for second and third places.
  12. I can during saturdays and sundays if not too late rating 1288
  13. @Yekaterina @seeh has also build commands to open jitsi meet and start voice chat may be we can integrate his code in your mod too, also we will have to fix some issue in his code too. like adding team members in same team voice chat if he/she use the command rather than creating new voice chat for each player.
  14. I think we can check if a team chat is already open maybe put that in a variable and if other team members are trying out this command add them to the existing chat.
  15. good hope each team get separate team calls, good idea @seeh @Stan` may be this can be added as a feature in future releases or is it WIP, in game voice chat I mean.
  16. commands.txtmetadata Greetings @user1 solsyah closed a game he surely was loosing, He is doing it many times don't have proof for old game
  17. we should find someone can do Magadhi Prakrit
  18. Hindi is a modern language, it originated in 12th century probably historically inaccurate like using Italian for Roman Civilization.
  19. maybe we can give sanskrit voice to Mauryas
  20. they will ask for money, I suggest you learn Unreal Engine and do it yourself, also you can use 3d models available in some websites you can buy them so that you can save time.
  21. hi @Albert888 in this forum there are only few developers who can do what you mentioned in the post and a lot of noobs like us who can play 0AD and complain about the game and fight each other on game chats and here on forum for no reason, and a lot of DDOS ers who are trying to annoy both gamers and developers.
  22. I feel 0AD community should not treat each others as complete strangers. I was comparing yeketerina with a random person who 0AD community don't know at all. I think we have to follow the path of Restorative Justice like @Norse_Harold suggested, that can fix the conflicts between devs vs yeketerina players vs yeketerina community members vs yeketerina and eventually allow yeketerina contribute constructively to 0AD if he wants to. That seems more fair than yelling at him in forum and in game chats
