Happy new year everyone!
-
Almost guessed that the two of you knew each other, the giant "Hi PPE" might be what gave that away
-
TheCobra1: Hmm, either I'm not understanding what it is you're hinting at or perhaps I don't want to?
(Or perhaps I just play stupid to get more information from you, and then I'll devise an intelligent plan to take over the world using dancing bananas? <-- Like these Truth is I'm a bit tired and while I don't drink alcohol I've been in the company of crazy friends, something which is known to produce strange reactions, so don't take what I say too seriously )
Michel: Feel free to apply, but be aware that we are not yet looking for map makers. We are happy that you find our game interesting enough to consider applying though and hope that you'll still be interested when we need map makers.

Not sure what issue you'll get, but the december/january issue has been shipped (some time ago I might guess, but I got mine some days ago).
Regarding how long time it'll take until it gets to you I found some info on this page: http://www.ancient-warfare.com/cms/index.p...id=30&Itemid=75
Delivery times- Once Ancient Warfare is published, it goes immediately to the distributor for packaging and labelling. It is sent out right after. The following table shows approximate delivery times from the day of publication until arrival in your mailbox:
- The Netherlands: 2-3 days
- Continental Europe: 10-12 days
- United Kingdom: 11-13 days
- North America: 12-15 days
- Rest of World: 15-20 days
I could have just posted the link, but I decided that I should be nice when the year is coming to an end =) I can still recommend a visit to their site though, there's a lot of info on old and upcoming issues etc.

Or to be more specific, the person who made the concept

Not sure how obvious it is from the "Factions" page on the website, but the Celts will be one major faction which is then split up in two subfactions, the Britons and the Gauls. As it says in the first post, and as you state yourself, he's a Gaul/Gallic hero and since Gaul is a subfaction to the Celts that's why he's listed under the Celts.

I cannot answer all your questions, but while the exact HPs etc of the units will have to be decided in testing we're aiming for longer battles (and thus units that lasts longer) that give the user a chance (or even a need) to be more strategic and not just create as many units as possible in a short time.

Hmm, no, that's not a part of this. While it may sound like it with "Winter 2007" that video was released early this year. Great if this have given you an opportunity to discover it though
-
Well, not sure who's in charge of that, but Bernd has stepped down a bit, and NaurwenT is now the most active of the leading people in TLA, so I'd guess asking her would be a good start
-
It sure is
-
We too.

Well, not sure how apparent it is from the website etc, but our idea for the first part of 0 A.D. is to represent the 500 years before 0 A.D. and add the 500 years after 0 A.D. in a later version/expansion of the game.

Well, while this is not the best place for it has been seen, I have been reluctant about it since I don't know much about the translation part of the game. But I guess no one knows all about it as we're not near that part yet, so I can say what I know. First, thank you for your offer (and an apology for us not fixing that page). Second, as we don't know when the game will be near the stage when translations will be able to begin being worked on we cannot really say much more than, if you're interested and keep an eye on our site you'll know when we need that help.
-
Would be interesting
I suggest you try and make that game a reality Bob (You don't have to do it all yourself, or now, but I suggest you consider trying to get it done some time, could be fun)
-
That does of course depend on what you mean by playing though
(While some aspects of the game are already far along, as you can see by the beautiful screenshots , some parts are not, so I'd not suggest joining just to be able to play the game in its present form. That's not to discourage people to in the future join as testers, but then they should be aware that it's not a finished game they will be playing )

It seems as if the link got changed somewhere in posting, adding in some dots instead of letters, this should be the correct one: http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showf...php?fileid=3813
Looks like an interesting map btw

By writing it in a PM to either Mythos_Ruler or Aeros.

Happy Thanksgiving!
-
I've kinda guessed that from your reply to this and the Vista thread
I use Linux fairly often too, so I'm also waiting for this game to be finished to have a great game to play natively on Linux
-
The linux beta should be around the same time the Windows and Mac versions are Might take a bit longer before there is a version for your favourite flavor due to the different ways some things are handled between distributions, but in general we'll try to make all available at roughly the same time.
And I guess you mean "expect" (Unless you are against linux of course )
-
Thanks for the encouragement and welcome to the community!
Hope you'll find it as interesting as we do
