  1. I'll have to agree with Mythos on this one, having a unit run away on you would make the game quite tedious, possibly more so that I'd enjoy. Realism isn't quite as important as the 'fun' factor in an RTS game. A unit that doesn't like fighting isn't worth building in the first place, so why did I pay for him? Lol.

I love eggman's idea of cowering units. Would look pretty cool for a trailer too. :)

  2. Well when the game is released, I'm sure you'll be able to find your way to the texture itself, but in the mean time you could probably find Leonidas' shield elsewhere, the only problem being all this 300 crap clogging up Google searches.

  3. Lol, if only I was that good. I would love to, and there are plenty of free FPS engines I could work from, I would just need a good modeler/animator to help me out. There'd be a lot of art to do, especially if we planned on doing a large array of civilizations.

  4. Lol, wouldn't that be fun.

I was more talking about a Roman FPS game, scratching the RTS element. I know I love RTS games just as much as the next guy, but wouldn't it be great to control a Roman legionnaire, fighting off Persians and such with a pilum and gladius, carrying a large scutum, having to work in a unit as an individual soldier and slowly working your way up to the General's position (which I suppose could be a good RTS element).

Oh, there's another idea. As you slowly gain rank, the game slowly turns into an RTS instead.
