  1. I tried to make it somewhat consistent, but it could certainly be a lot better.
  2. No, I just have GIMP. Looks like it doesn't matter in this case though.
  3. Ben, that should work. I guess creating a new one every time isn't too bad for performance? [edit] Wait, it's not creating a new one. I wasn't able to get that to work before, although I don't remember "colour" being part of it.
  4. Yes, like burned building textures to go with the flaming particles on damaged structures and cracks for damaged walls.
  5. I'd really rather not put the name under the buttons. I think they should stay on the bottom since they are on the bottom when multiple units are selected. So, unless moving them is central to the design, I can do it if you really want, but I don't really see the point. As for technical feasibility, we can reasonably only color text dynamically. If really we want to color a background like behind the player name or as an outline around the unit icon, then I'll need a way to change the color of a sprite after is is created. We don't have this currently. The only things this mockup has that the old one didn't are the HP and stamina numbers and the specific unit name. I kind of thought that either we wanted more info, or a smaller panel size. The attack / armor icon doesn't offer much (I'd prefer more info). There is more space apportioned to the resources than attack and armor and many resources cannot gather at all (and those that can will only gather for part of the time anyway). Just some food for thought. I'll make up whatever interface you all want (where I can), just wanted to mention some potential issues.
  6. No, you'll have to apply the patch he attached to his post.
  7. Seems nice; I like that the experience bar is close to the rank icon since they are related. We could also simply avoid showing the generic name for resources. Where would the resources that a unit is carrying go? Right now, I just stuck it in the middle of the icon, but that's obviously not the correct place.
  8. I'd prefer an ax, bow and arrow, and battering ram head respectively, but I'll use whatever you give me.
  9. Yeah, potential design changes might render some issues moot. Michael: I'm staying out of the design side of things this time.
  10. I'm a bit limited with what I have to work with. Setting the text as the player color is easy, but setting a sprite's color is not. We can't load an image because we would have to have multiple images just for the color and keep those in sync with the player colors should those be edited later. Also, the smaller fonts are difficult to read because they don't have an outline. I agree with the comments, but I'm not sure how we can do all of that. Definitely need to do something though, as it's not as functional or nice looking as it should be. Comments welcome on how to accomplish this.
  11. Ok, made some changes. Will need more work (some unit names are too long to fit). Let me know what issues you have.
  12. Hey Michael, Do you want me to go ahead and apply quantumstate's changes? I can probably find some time this week for that.
  13. http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16140entry241354 Might be possible to get battle detection in and update the sound system. Just posting this here for reference. [edit] Just realized that's not public, so that link isn't much good for you.
  14. Oh well, at least a custom user title is nice.
  15. Can we get the forum settings section added back? I still can't find a way to hide avatars.
  16. Hmm, I like it. It needs some more polish of course, but it's nice looking. Seems like it would work reasonably well with different resolutions. Not sure about the tabs, but I don't think there will be any easy solution there.
  17. Centurion and Legionnaire are self explanatory. I imagine we could tie in quite a few to their actual numbers.
  18. Yeah, probably will lose a few followers. If a twitter user who already has an account hadn't voted by the 10th reason, they probably weren't going to vote. I think the retweeted things related to the poll were more interesting to twitter followers. I definitely was interested in others comments on the poll, but not so much about a 17th reason. I do think winning will help this project's visibility. Source Fabric benefits also considering how well they did. I actually checked their project out; I didn't really check the others out. Congratulations to them for a great competition and for being so gracious about the result.
  19. Would be nice, but not sure of performance hit.
  20. It would be nice if you could snap buildings together. That is a feature from AoE3 that was nice.
  21. Can we disable avatars? I couldn't find the setting.
  22. Ok, the mobile version is working on Android default browser. Might want to add Firefox mobile also.
  23. Not seeing the mobile version. Tried it with Android 2.3 default browser and latest version of Opera mobile.
  24. Being worked on, might be in Alpha 11. The lag will be about the same in this release. I'm really hoping that pathfinder optimizations will happen soon after the new pathfinder is finished.
