  1. Instead of "map name - 2 players" or "map name - 2v2" how about "map name (2)" and "map name (2v2)" instead?
  2. I think it looks nice, but agree about needing consistency.
  3. Maybe the terrain wouldn't be impassable, just higher to give an archer bonus.
  4. Yeah, we should definitely do that. Not really sure how it should look though. I think it would be nice if it rose up a bit and then disappeared.
  5. I kind of agree, but we really won't know for sure until we've done a lot more play testing.
  6. wraitii, I really like your ideas. I agree about not having regenerating berry bushes and also making fishing much faster. I think fish were a major food source in the ancient world, so it makes sense for a more reasonable gather rate. We could make elephants (ivory) and maybe whales into a source of gold. I think having larger farms is worth experimenting with - could have a nice affect on gameplay. Corrals are straightforward, I think.
  7. The white horse could still be built (probably a limit of 1-3) and offer some bonus if we wanted. It doesn't have to be a wonder.
  8. I think the issue may be a lack of possible wonders for the Britons?
  9. Fortunately, I can't take credit for that. Lol. I did build a lot on it and did add a lot of duplication though. My goal was clean it up eventually, but I never got around to it. I can help remove some of the unused stuff; we'll need to come up with some design standards first. We need to either make all styles local to one page only, or have a common library that they all share. [Edit] I haven't touched the C++ side of the gui. I have no idea what's going on there.
  10. Alpha123, I certainly wouldn't mind helping, but I'd be glad to have you take it over if you want.
  11. I think it's mostly that there are a lot of unused pieces and duplicates that make things difficult. It's hard to remove them because it can take a fair bit of searching to know if it will break something, and if something does break, it might not be obvious right away. Also, we rely on more global JavaScript variables that we probably should (although some of that may just be the nature of JavaScript).
  12. I'm not sure about the result of any previous scripting discussions. I might be able to clean some small stuff up as I go. If we want a redesign, then that will take a little while. Alas, my copy of Photoshop 5.0 lies on an old lonely hard drive. I'd have to find a computer that could boot Windows 98 to use that. That said, wouldn't pngs be adequate on my side?
  13. Pureon, I may have some time this week (although not too much on Saturday). Let me know what you want to do. By the way, the designs look awesome!
  14. Nice to see android work again. Looking forward to watching your progress.
  15. I don't like the idea of researching something at one place and having it affect another. I'd be wondering what happened to the other tech.
  16. I was hoping we would have blacksmiths, so that sounds good to me. I still think we might want them for the Persians and Carthaginians though.
  17. I didn't think the victory flourish was too much either. Besides, there aren't too many commands that need to be accessed on a victory notice.
  18. We do have basic upgrade support. The basic units get automatically promoted to advanced and later elite ranks based on battle experience. There currently is a white bar displayed over the unit icon to show progress towards the next rank. As for technologies: they are available also, but once researched automatically apply to all of your existing units and all future units you train. With some significant effort, the system could probably be modified to handle per battalion upgrades like BFME.
  19. It could potentially be interesting to have civil centers build themselves like forts in AoE3. That would make it impossible to build a civil center unless you already had one though.
  20. I'm glad to see an artist looking at this again. Your layout looks really nice. I just used what I had available to make the existing theme. Many of the gold pieces are just the old bronze ones that I removed some of the red from. I wouldn't mind you replacing all the theme stuff I added, lol. I look forward to what you come up with. I don't know if I'll have time to implement it though. I'm sure someone will. (One small request: I'd like the progress bars to revert back to flat ends. I think I came up the idea for the rounded ones and hacked it in. I've regretted it since then and it's never quite worked the way I wanted.)
  21. I think Civil Centers (and other structures) should be able to be built on farmland. It doesn't really make sense to put any structures on farmland though. That would limit how many farms you could place. If we don't want players to farm around their Civil Centers, I think we should potentially handle that with a "gathering speed" increasing aura for farmsteads.
