The immediate solution would be to switch over to Google Public DNS. Instructions on how to do so...
-
Yes, yes, yes! In this case, definitely. The proposed buildings are not merely duplicates but serve certain purposes.
-
Yes, even SVN. Did you flush your DNS cache? It seems that the server side issue has been resolved and clearing your cache will allow you to connect to the server. I am curious though how you replied if you can access the forums or Trac.
-
Indeed. There was some maintenance done with the server on Nov 3 and since then there have been some issues regarding DNS. I've flushed my DNS cache and it seems to work fine now (for the past 4 hours or so).
-
I've already said it internally but let me go ahead and say it publicly: as much as I feel for the around 1-3% of the people who will be left out when the switch happens, I think it is much more important to pave the way for future improvements and an overall better graphical gameplay experience. Technology advances at a fast rate and eventually everybody (of the the said 1-3%) will catch up. That is the great thing about open source and tech... they just keep getting better and better.
On a side note, eager to see how far the capabilities of the engine are pushed and what the limits will be. Only time shall tell

Can you post that here ?
Sorry for the late reply, but it all started here.
BTW, nice work on the dock progress, LordGood.
I think it might have something to do with SketchUp's default tiles and the white plaster but the dock sort of looks European (Elizabethan to be exact).

Great work dude
Not only can this go to the website wallpapers gallery but perhaps shared through the next weekly report to the fans (But then it would be a periodic thing... how about three wallpapers a month?)
-
It worked perfectly, so I committed a variation of your patch (r12834) Please test and see how it goes
It works. Now I don't have to make the change myself each time before I compile
BTW my experiments with SVN are going nicely so I'll start building packages soon. Once the entire GitHub migration thing is sorted out...
-
I think a rounded top versus a four faced mixture (dunno the exact term but I suppose buttress works) is much more elegant cleaner. But then again, this is a military building
Nice touch with the banners.

Excelent, nice wraitii.
how may i can use it?
Wraitii was quite clear on this:
Procedure to test:
Go to binaries/data/mods/public/simulation/components/interfaces, erase the "TechnologyTemplateManager.js" file.
Put the files from "TechTemplate.7z" in source/simulation2/components/
Put the files from "AI.7z" in binaries/data/mods/public/simulation/ai/
Apply the patch.
Run update-workspaces.
Recompile.
Run the game and choose "Aegis Bot".
(tell me too if there's a problem with the patch).
-
I've downloaded the files and will test them out perhaps tomorrow. Look forward to a much tougher AI
If only naval support was here... the skies would be shaded with my arrows

Wow this game sounds really promising. Great work so far
And Mythos_Ruler, it wouldn't hurt to share some of the tanks fighting the soldiers screenshots on Facebook, etc (if its alright with Ilves)

Thanks for reaching out guys. You can see the list of gameplay features and their status here. Additionally, there is a list of all active tickets, if anything really catches your eyes. Honestly I would recommend creating separate accounts. Remember, programmers don't have to submit applications. Just pick up a ticket, and get started

@LordGood: Your renditions look amazing
Are you using SketchUp to model? (I recognized the Kerkythea renderer )
I prefer your rectangle version because the shape matches with the other factions' temples and can easily be recognized as a temple. Also I think it would look much better in stone rather than wood. We'll just need new textures for the Mauryan buildings. Keep up the great work
-
If I recall correctly, the game was meant to be modular. If we get that implemented, its just another option on the downloads page.
TL;DR
Go for it!
-
Did we ever get that system implemented that no longer placed resources at the map edge? because the AI still seem to crowd around a tree that doesn't exist (or can't be seen).
-
Okay this is what I got:
Last login: Fri Nov 2 22:05:48 on ttys001
iMac:~ Geek$ lsof -a -d cwd -c pyrogenesis
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
pyrogenes 2323 Geek cwd DIR 14,2 2210 381296 /Users/Geek -
Yeah we could use that, seeing that TIGERS is no longer maintained and so that rating is somewhat useless.
-
Can you try that lsof command and see what pyrogenesis' working directory is?
I just got a bunch of system info when I ran lsof but nothing about pyrogenesis. I also ran
lsof -a -d cwd -c pyrogenesis
but didn't produce any results.
-
The working directory should be binaries/system? You might be able to use lsof to find out the cwd, like "lsof -a -d cwd -c pyrogenesis".
The libraries and dylibs are present in binaries/system. I used Wraitii's changes and it works
-
I made some concepts that better artists could refine
-
Kudos myconid and thanks for the awesome engine updates

Not bad for your first post Sbot
Personally I am a believer in minimalism, but sadly that doesn't work too well with the splendor of 0 A.D.
-
Of all the suggestions, I like Lutetia or Leucetios the most.
The first because like Pedro mentioned, has a nice history lesson.
The second because it was the Gallic god of war and I feel that the Gauls aren't represented as much in the alpha naming process; and 0 A.D. is a war game, so its a logical choice

The DNS issues should be fixed by now, regardless of ISP DNS or Google Public DNS
