I'll try to shut up for a few (hopefully many) month about this.
Never do that. I still haven't given up on a new GUI engine (but then again haven't made significant progress anyway)

Also clock speed is a really bad indicator of cpu performance these days. New cpu designs do more per clock cycle.
I know right?
It would also be nice to include a footnote or something saying that multiplayer requires Broadband Internet access. Data fees may apply.

Awesome update Fexor
On the other hand glas to see a bit of a debate going on
BTW I created ticket 1634 specifically for that issue.

Nice start Enrique I kind of like the Mogul touch on the fort though (I assume its the fort)

At ease major! But seriously, welcome

I can help out with Latin and looking over the grammar

I would recommend that any unit automatically return fire. It is wrong how easy it is to defend against them!!
I can see a scenario where my units at low health are being attacked while attacking a fort. The fort has like 10 HP and my soldiers can survive two more shots. If they abandon the building and walk towards the enemy, they'll die. I don't want to have to micro manage...

I just uploaded my first 0 A.D. video. Sucks that my computer couldn't handle both of the programs smoothly. The game started getting choppy.

Mission accomplished. Gallic noble cavalry are quite effective, when you have 200

But it is too grand for a barracks.
Exactly my point. We might need historians to check this, but did the Mauryans build grandiose barracks? Military buildings usually pick functionality over looks due to always being a target for attack. I'm not saying Amish's model was bad. From my perspective if it were less "fancy" it would fit in the category for barracks. But this brings me to my second point. Why can we not have multiple variations of buildings? Houses have them. I think it would be a killer feature in the game (imagine building a market and pressing a hot key to switch variations or just having it randomized like the houses).
-
Will some of these be downloadable? I would like to download buildings as they are being produced. Like a card collection, you gotta have more.
I've always liked the idea of multiple variations for most of the buildings.
@Omid: Great work so far. I liked the flat roof more but the current one works too.

Hah... I have the Apple extended keyboard with numpad... so I don't run into these problems .
-
^ Hah that reply is just awesome.
So from what I understand you're trying to create terrain erosion. I wonder what it would do to the buildings. And exactly what is defined as erosion? Water levels changing? Textures changing? The terrain changing as if it were a a pile of jello or a water bed?

<p><p>Hi, just d/l'ed and played a bit on my mac. What an awesome game so far – brings back some fond AoE2 memories!
Just a couple of things that have probably been picked up before but just in case... During the game I couldn't use the menu button (it gets highlighted but doesn't open when I click) so I had to force quit to exit. Also was getting some javascript errors to do with 'jubot' when in combat. I've attached a screenshot of the error text from the console, sorry if there's a simpler way of submitting that info or if this is the wrong thread! Great work folks!
Well the errors are expected, the game is still in alpha. Have you read this? It explains a lot Plus JuBot is pretty much deprecated and will probably be removed from the game by the next release.

Another awesome map dude. Just love the landscape. Plus its not too hard on my computer

@zoot you know what I meant...
Adding something similar to "Source:Wikipedia" is easier than just rewriting or rewording the whole thing. But then again its not a legal issue.
-
It works for me. Are there any filtering systems on your network that prevent you from downloading?

This page has the info you need.

Okay... how do we paraphrase stuff we learned in school? We don't. So if we write our own explanation, it comes from our head (ergo original). So if I go read about something on Wikipedia (the analogy is that its the school), and then I regurgitate that info, I wouldn't have to attribute it, right? And what if I learned about say the Aegean Sea in geography class or something. I'm not going to attribute my teacher. Yes I'd attribute Wikipedia if it contained analysis or information I didn't know before hand.
[/2cents]
So how is this... in the license file, we just say there is stuff from Wikipedia in several places. I don't fancy having attributions at the end of tooltips or description boxes.

I almost did it but I had issues committing. I decide to drop it because I don't want to screw the games repository
-
I mentioned this somewhere else. I've always wanted to create a defensive AI and name it Mason. (Because it builds walls )

I think the barracks should be flat topped, like the little building in the picture Amish posted. No sense in having a military building overly ornate.
===[TASK]=== Rubble

I say let it be an obstruction while it remains. You can build over it only when it "cools down" a bit. And then only the rubble under the new building would be cleared immediately.
So obstruction for half the time it stays (so currently five seconds - which is too short BTW) and once the obstruction is lifted, it is removed immediately once new buildings are placed on it.
This seems really exciting
