Sauron's head bounces!! LOLLLLL
-
I need your help. What would you do for the teutonic knight ? :
Option 1: Celt chief. Original idea, but I am having problems with the figure as I dont have all proper items. Also I dont like very much that a celt chief can kick the butt of almost every unit, and it is also very slow.
Option 2: Roman general. Guy with golden muscled armor, golden roman helm with crest, red cloak, shin guards... you know.
Option 3: Spartan hoplite. Guy with greek helm with transverse crest, red cloak, greek armor, spartan hoplon with 'lambda', spear...
Option 4: Suggestion?

I would be strong fighter friend to the main good guy, proud, noble and stubborn, someone like Gimli in LOTR (except not a funny clown ), Chewbacca in SW, Minsc the ranger in Baldurs Gate 2

Yes, if I finish it you can download it I just dont know when, I am the only person working on this and making units it takes a while... I will try to not forget about it and find strength to finish

New goodies for today
LEGIONARY
Replacement of: Two-handed swordsman.
Weapon: Short sword (gladius).
Armor: Bronze Gallic helmet, oval-rectangualr shield (scutum), chainmail armor (Lorica hamata)
Wearing: Sandals (caligae), tunic with short sleeves.
History: Based on the Roman legionary in the transition between Republic and Empire, during the reforms of Marius, mainly a Caesarian legionary. But also similar to a Republican princeps. Of course, no pilum, just sword.
Aprox time period: 250 BC to 90 AD.
And 2 ingame screens (courtesy of Jason's RAW mod ) :
THE MIGHT OF ROME (Jesus, I always wanted to ever see this one!!!!)

CAESAR'S LEGIONS ABOUT TO FACE THE GAULS

Well this thing is just a mod for Age of Kings. The real 0ad game started like this mod (in concept) but it developed into a full game, so I am just bringing back the old mod to life, this is the "0ad" AoK mod and it's different from the independent 0ad game
And I will try to get something done for Christmas

Indeed Jason's legionary is 1000 times better than that one I rendered because I messed things like the armor in the shoulders, the shield and the balteus (the straps over the skirt), and also the textures, mine are pretty basic

I could send you the pz3 if you want
Btw, hmm I think a soldier walking to battle with only his shield would look strange..
And the sword being too long, that's a darn thing I thought too, I used the gladius that came with the DAZ legionary, which is odd..
For one of these days I will try to finish the big cake: the Carthaginian war elephant

IMPERIAL LEGIONARY
Replacement of: Champion.
Weapon: Short sword (gladius).
Armor: Iron Roman style helmet without crest, iron segmented armor (Lorica segmentata), skirt with leather straps, tower shield (scutum).
Wearing: Sandals (caligae), tunic with short sleeves.
History: Based on the typical classic Roman legionary of the Imperial period that comes into mind every time you think of Rome.
Aprox time period: 40 AD to 250 AD.
CARTHAGINIAN
Replacement of: Heavy swordsman (Hidden unit).
Weapon: Short sword.
Armor: Bronze helmet with crest, breastplate, round shield, greaves.
Wearing: Sandals, tunic with short sleeves.
History: Based on a typical Carthaginian soldier, but extensible to Greco-Roman and near East armies.
Aprox time period: 300 BC to 100 BC.
BERSERKER
Replacement of: Berserk (hidden unit)
Weapon: Heavy two handed sword.
Armor: None.
Wearing: Pants
History: Based on a celt savage fighter, they wore no armor and little or no clothing to prove their courage in battle. German warriors also did this.
Aprox time period: 1500 BC to 100 AD.

I like epic/war/adventure/action/drama movies like Braveheart, Gladiator, LOTR, Saving Private Ryan... I dislike very much action-only films, drama-only films and so on. I like mixes, big mixes

I just saw ROTK and... it was awesome, very good movie, though I had a feel of rush at some parts of it, and I missed some important scenes.
