Google brought me to Spring RTS (open source RTS was the search phrase), and I was wondering if anyone had taken a look at it, and if so, what their impressions of it were. So far, the games look pretty polished.

Forgiven, Jeru. I don't recall the exact phrase, but I think it was "Open Source RTS". My old AOE disk finally got the final scratch (and it was a legal version), I was tired of AOE3, and I wanted something more. That led me to 0 AD.

Tis a pity that a grand series is coming to such a sad end - Age of Empires 3 was, in my opinion, a step in the right direction (not accurately speaking, but artistically...). To see for yourself, check out the latest screenshots here . Cartoonifying is not the way to go - why not just use lower quality sprites in place of the desktop graphics?

Oh, I forgot to mention that I ran across 0 AD thanks to a Google Search. 0 AD's best part, IMHO, is the sheer beauty of the graphics.
