  1. Is there a way to tweak/mod the camera in order to get an isometric(or orthographic)view ? It is not exacly usefull but it would add an age of empire 2 feel to the game... By isometric I mean something like that :

  2. It would be nice if there was a temporary map download folder, so when a group of players want to play a map that someone created they can download and play it without exiting the game.

  3. I finally got round to updating some of my better scenarios so they work with Alpha 13: From the Mountains to the Sea, Barcania, Colonia, Nova Isla, and Epidaurum are now all updated to use the new factions, and can be downloaded either as a bundle or individual scenarios here: http://www.exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1078 A run-down of the scenarios included: - From the Mountains to the Sea is Multiplayer only (needs naval units), Athenians start on an island, Gauls in the mountains, fertile resource-heavy indefensible shoreline to scrap over. It's good fun, particularly when you find all the smaller mountain passes. - Barcania is the only map of mine that ever got bundled with the main game, it's an island, the updated Barcania II has changed it from Hele/Hele/Celt to Cart/Athe/Brits scrapping over it. Lots of terrain, coves, hidden bays, peninsulas, and so on to fight over. - Colonia is set on the shores of Iberia, Carthage VS Celts VS Iberians, the former on the seashore, the latter two in the mountains, with a deep river valley through the middle of the map. - Nova Isla is a rugged island with Athenians at one end and Gauls at the other on plains areas with mountains that contain the metal and stone in the middle. - Epidaurum is based on the modern coastline of Cavtat in Croatia, Macedon VS Athenians VS Spartans in three small villages around two coves on the Iberian coastline. These five are the only ones I've updated for Maghada, but I might make a couple more if there's interest; I don't think I really have time to get back to AI-making at the moment, sadly, fun as that was. :/ Anyhow, hope someone at least decides to download and enjoy them!

  4. Yeah, admittedly they're not very AI friendly, though some and some starting positions work better than others. And also the AI will hopefully catch up on pathfinding etc at some point... I can announce that the new map is to be entitled "Himalaya", and will hopefully be released soon

  5. I'd like to suggest a new building, the Katoikia where player may build to expand territory with 50% less resources to construct and capable of training both civilians and military units. The Katoikia was a structure available only to the Ptolemies and the Seleucids, and it contains units like Klerouchoi Phalangites, Toxotes Kretikos and civilian units. The main objective of the Katoikia was to provide player an option to expand faster instead of building a typical town hall which require more resources to build while a fortress cannot collect natural resources but requires a certain level of urbanization to unlock it. Although the Katoikia was a good option as a territory expansion facility, it have it's flaw where it have a limited expansion space and lesser HP than a conventional Town Hall.

  6. I believe converting units is something the team would like. I really like the idea of converting buildings, but being able to build the same soldiers as your enemy in it makes no sense to me (not that the team is planning this). But how would prisoners work? When would units become prisoners? (I do not like tower pushing too by the way; it is building towers forward to your base right? The AI sort of did it to me, I was building my base and had just builded a tower and the AI builded a tower on the other side, and I laughed out loud.)

  7. I think it's not good to turn the game into Total War. But if you mean features of total war I agree. And I think there are developers who play the series so they might use it as inspiration. Mythos said that he imagined the map of Rome 2 to be as he imagined it for 0 A.D. I have no idea what that means though, is the campaign supposed to be something like Total War? I enjoy the classic base building and resource gathering a lot. But I would like combat to be more like Total War + Company of Heroes. And the diplomacy to be more like Seven Kingdoms maybe Total War (I have no idea how diplomacy works in Total War, only played Rome total war demo and Medieval 2 demo).

  8. I really really like choosing between different technologies or path. I want 0 A.D to expand on this idea so players can pick their own playing style even more and it is also very strategic (should I choose this against x enemy or should I choose that against x enemy) Though I'm not sure if this appeals to competive players.
