"Cold War" RTS Game, based on 0AD?

I Have a curious idea: Make a "cold war style" stretegy game, based on: thw 0AD Engine and design, and i have some questions!:

* Pyrogenesis supports explosions, shoots, flames and bursts?

* How i can create the explosions?

* Create and Launch missiles, how i can it?

* "Massive destruction wepons", how i can create the effects of it, for example, radiation of nuclear weapons?, lose 7% health per explossion?

* Build Airports, for garrison units on planes?

part 2 is planned to be between 1 and 500 AD. But if you can arrange an army of artists, I'm sure we could make more parts ;)

Once part 1 is completed, the code base won't require a lot of changes anymore. Mainly the art needs to be updated.
