Mythos_Ruler
Others were the Mosoleum at Harnicassus (sp?), the lighthouse of Alexander, the Colossus of Rhodes... I can't think of any others.

Ulysses S Griffin
thats a nice list.....will the buildings be in the game?
Math_the_great
if the 7 wonders are in the game they should be real scale...I dunno if it's possible but it would be very cool!
Mythos_Ruler
Would you like the 7 wonders to be civ-specific "unique buildings" or map editor eye candy/units?
Jeru
thats a nice list.....will the buildings be in the game? You'd have to talk that over with The Chief (Wijit). It sounds like a good idea to me, at least for a nice post-release "goodies module" or something.
Render
Very clever Conjurer but whats with the theatrical *sigh*.No need to make me feel stupid
Math_the_great
Would you like the 7 wonders to be civ-specific "unique buildings" or map editor eye candy/units?I would prefer eye candy.... because I hate building wonders in a game....It's a waste of time and it's not realist...winning a battle because I juste build something big.... sorry for my bad english
Ulysses S Griffin
a wonder doesnt gave to be a "game winner" it can be built to give special "super units" as you call them, or they could be used to give "super-upgrades"(such as a %400 increase in harvest yeild) or "civ powers" (such as the romans could have "assimilation"- the ability to capture buildings and "duplicate or copy" enemy special upgrades...of course they would be more expensive and take longer to upgrade for balance reasons). Tonto_Icy_Tripod
It might not be completely realistic, but it's a good way of ending games that last too long. If a game goes on for hours I know I'd personally rather quit than keep on playing. And I do believe that's how wonders are used in games that have them... Gameplay>> realism
Quacker
Maybe a time period, such as you can't build a wonder until you've played for 45 mins-2 hrs, whatever. That would prevent those people that amass defences around their wonder early on and just wait it out.
Wijitmaker
If you guys want to draw up some sketches or find some reconstructive drawings, it would be something to think about
Mythos_Ruler
I'm on it! Wonders could also have two uses in the game. In a "standard" game wonders could act like others have said for special bonuses (RON, EE). In "Wonder Race" games wonders could act as game-enders (AOE, AOK, etc.)
CodeOptimist
Yeah, I'd prefer Wonders not to be game-enders in most cases. I'd rather them give you large bonuses, etc. There could be a checkbox for Wonder Victory if you wanted to use Wonders as a game-end condition. Also, there could be a Wonder Race game-type like Mythos suggested.
Apollonios
just one thing to consider 5 out of 7 were build by Greeks and were in Greece (Alexandria's Lighthouse was in Hellenistic Alexandria)....
Marcus Petrius
Hmmmm, NOTwo where in Greece, two where in hellenistic Asia Minor, two where in Egypt, and one in Babylon.Built by Greeks, yes.In a hellenised world, yes.But that's not Greece. Apollonios
Alexandria was a Greek city build by Alexander.... It was occupied by Greeks and foreigners they wanted to study the Greek wisdom. Also the Library of Alexandria was containing everything translated in Greek. Founded and ruled by Greeks for centuries that makes it Greek even if it was in South Pole.Ephesus was an Ionian city founded by Greeks and was Greek occupied even under Persian occupation. That makes it very Greek till the Byzantines destroyed the CITY as well....The Mausoleum same story with Ephesus. The Greek cities were all around the mediterenean founded by the mother city, occupied by Greeks and being Greek under different commonwealth depending the period. The Great Greece (Sicily and South Italy) was greek although it was in Italian Peninsula. But these wonders are anyway validated by Greek Scholars and since at the time the burst of civilisation and culture was in Greece.....
