Cannot connect to Game lobby

Hello all,

Its been so many months since I played this game. When I was playing using Alpha 16 (Patanjali), I was able to connect to lobby (or other multiplayer option. I've forgotten), where I could see all online community players were listed and I could create a game to let join others etc. But Now when I try to login to lobby, I'm getting an error message "Resolving the server's hostname failed". I neither cannot connect to other multiplayer modes. Is that feature deprecated?

What version of the game are you using?

The most recent one, Alpha 21 Ulysses.

My OS is Ubuntu 16.04. I've installed corresponding 0ad release.

To answer your question no lobby isn't deprecated. Did you by any chance change your router ? If so are you using IPV6 ? That feature isn't supported yet.

Hi Stanislas,

I think, previously I had connected cable directly from the receiver to my system. No its connected to router and then from router to my system. And yeah I'm using IPV6. And I also believe port forwarding has nothing to do with connecting to lobby as long as I want to host my own game.

Any suggestions?

Is there a way you could use IPV4 ? Else unless you code IpV6 support for the game I'm afraid there isn't much to be done

Solution: it is necessary to check for the presence of the line

xmpp-client 5222/tcp

in /etc/services - without them libgloox return "Resolving the server's hostname failed"
