feneur
The name of that language (and a few more) is translated for me as well (have Swedish as the language on the OS, but English is set as the language to use for 0 A.D.). sanderd17
Erik, what do you mean with being "translated"? Normally all names should be translated in their own language. So it should never show "German", but always "Deutsch", no matter what your current language settings are. So the issue of the Scottish Celtic being written in Greek is a very strange one. @Sokrates, do you notice any other language names that don't appear in their own language? Looking through it again that's the only one in the list, was a bit confused by the Norwegian as that's written the same way in both Swedish and Norwegian. GunChleoc
The name of the UI language is "Scottish Gaelic", not "Scottish Celtic". It shows up in the languages selection menu as "gd", because the ICU version needs updating to get the language name translated into "Gàidhlig".I have searched my translation files for "Σκωτικά" and "Scottish", and these terms to not appear. So, we need a screenshot or instructions on how to reproduce this. Sokrates
Well I did the translation my own, It is shown in greek on my game so i dont know how it is on english, the think is i have english OS so i dont know why it s shown on greek
sanderd17
@GunChleoc the naming of languages is done by the ICU library directly. So it's normal you won't find those translations in the 0 A.D. source. But it's very strange it only happens with one language.Maybe ICU has made a mistake with the Gaelic translation of Gaelic. GunChleoc
I downloaded download.icu-project.org/files/icu4c/56.1/icu4c-56_1-data.zip and checked data/lang/gd.txt. Looks like this:gd{ Keys{ <snip> } Languages{ <snip> gd{"Gàidhlig"} <snip>This is definitely correct. I don't know which ICU version you are using here though - definitely not the current one, because it shows as "gd" in my version of Syllepsis.Since Sokrates has done "his own translation", I don't know what has happened there. We really do need a screenshot. Edited December 13, 2015 by GunChleoc
Sokrates
When I say my own translation I meant from greek to english, I ve never edited any of the files(just to skip any misunderstanding), I downloaded the game from the oficial site, my OS is in english, if you need anything else tell me, here is a screenshot:
feneur
Taken in SVN, but the result is the same in release (apart from the list of languages being shorter of course, the name of the language is still translated, despite Swedish not even being included in the release, so it certainly seems to be an issue "higher up").
GunChleoc
Thanks for the screenshots The Swedish says "highland scots". So I guess that the language name is translated into the operating system locale or operating system language instead of displaying its native name or a language code. feneur
Thanks for the screenshots The Swedish says "highland scots". Technically "highland scottish", but yeah, I'd say it seems like you're correct
sanderd17
GunChleoc: we're outdated by a few versions apparently. This ticket says we currently have v52: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/3004 Could you check that version?
GunChleoc
Scottish Gaelic was included in the ICU for the first time with version 54.
