GunChleoc
On the start screen, the backgrounds for the menus aren't drawn properly. I have the same problem when starting a game, but during the game, everything looks fine. The result screen is then screwed up again. You can see my graphics settings in one of the attached screenshots.0 A.D. GunChleoc
Yes, it sounds like the same bug.
Stan`
Do you get any messages about missing textures ? The background should be black;
GunChleoc
I just started from a command line, there are no messages. I couldn't find any logfiles - I followed the instructions and found only an empty "log" subdirectory with a reanme.txt in it.One of the things that seems to be happening is that elements are still there after they should have been hidden or destroyed, e.g. the overlapping screen tips in the top right corner in the last screenshot. The game must create some log files or it wouldn't even run. The game doesn't output anything to the Windows command line, it is only debug output that requires a tool like DebugView or a debugger to view. historic_bruno
You appear to be using fancy graphics including preferglsl, can you try starting the game without those options?
GunChleoc
I unticked all the boxed in the Graphics column except for the FPS restriction in menus, and then restarted 0AD. No change.
Zeta1127
This is similar to the problem I am having, only the main menu and skirmish menu backgrounds are black.system_info.txt Edited December 5, 2015 by Zeta1127

GunChleoc
Try clicking fps overlayThat fixed it for me. So, I guess the bug is that the drawing of the background is tied to this overlay?
Zeta1127
I would say so, I was also having this problem.
Stan`
Is it having it on that breaks it, or does toggling it fix it ?
Zeta1127
Not having the FPS overlay on screws up all of the menu backgrounds.

historic_bruno
I can't reproduce this on my system, Win 7 Pro 64-bit w/ AMD Radeon HD 6850. Anyone with an AMD GPU seeing this?

GunChleoc
The only other overlay that fixes this in a release build is the realtime overlay. The problem might also be due to a buggy driver - I can't play anything that uses OpenGl 3.1 (e.g. SuperTuxKart, Pioneer).
