auron2401
Similar, not entirely the same. It's taller and it doesn't have tons of spikes coming out of it. Lions one seems more like an object built by a group of highly skilled carpenters, not by a bunch of soldiers trying to put wood together with ladders in order to scale a wall Siege engines are built for the siege, not before the siege. all these representations of perfect structural objects are silly. ;/ Edited July 17, 2014 by auron2401

Le Druide Gaulois
I like the green but blue looks defnately better, plus it's more historically accurate.

Le Druide Gaulois
Is this bridge just eyecandy or can it be built on rivers?
Stan`
Y feel more slower than other faction, building and walking??Is this bridge just eyecandy or can it be built on rivers?Eyecandy. You can see it on the guilin map.
Lion.Kanzen
??Eyecandy. You can see it on the guilin map.The problem with rank still there.

Stan`
Eyecandy Unless I use it for the palissades which won't look good

Enrique
You should work on the texture mapping in some areas, there is noticeable stretching even at that zoom level. Also you should do something with the roofs, they have weird shading due to the smooth groups. You should disconect the geometry or make flat where there are big angles in the roof geometry, otherwise you'll keep getting that weird shading. Stan`
I don't see where it's strechted ?Yeah they have because otherwise you see the angles and that look bad, and the roofs are all disconnected.

Enrique
(stretching) All the roofs and ramps of the CC, and you can see it clearly in the floor of the bridge, and a little in the corral roof. This is what is causing the weird shading of the roofs:Notice how the roof gets darker towards the edge in the right example? this is even more visible when using normal mapping.I think a sharp corner at the end of the roof make them look better: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/uploads//monthly_07_2014/msg-13528-0-51833300-1405613717.jpgYou can also bevel that edge corner, but that creates more gometry, so it's up to you. Stan`
I can't get rid of those angles though :/
Enrique
You don't need to modify any angle, you just have to make the end corner sharp so the smoothing don't try to average the lighting at the end of the roof and you get rid of the weird shading. Stan`
Okay, so can use the smooth on faces edges and vertex after that ?
Enrique
Yes, you only need to select the edge of the roof (the part of the roof that is facing front, outside of the building) and hit "Y" to disconnect the geometry, this will make the edge sharp and you can still maintain the smooth shading of the detached part if that's what you mean. Stan`
Okay gonna try it.
Le Druide Gaulois
Stan, since you've been so productive lately I thought I could stuff you with some more work lol. The current palisades look wierd, I suggest we replace them by some sort of lower and weaker wall, more or less like this one:
Stan`
Third Question : Those were made to replace default palissade Should we keep and fix them ? (Eyecandy is a valid reason)I was thinking of using the bamboo. And therefore need sketches for doors and wall towers. What idea do you prefer?
