Black Background

Hi All,

I recently installed 0ad on a Lubuntu. It is version Alpha X. When I start the game, it has a black background, or in other words all the grass is black.

Any ideas?

It sounds very much like an issue with either the drivers for your graphics card or the graphics card itself. Could you please look at http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths to find the log files and attach the system_info.txt to a post in this topic? Also, is it just the ground that is black? Does buildings/units/water look as it should? Perhaps you could take a screenshot? (Press F2 and it will tell you on the screen where it is saved, then attach that to a post here as well )

Hi,

this is for the oasis map. I enabled reveal map so I could show a piece of uninhabited area as well as area that the game starts as.

I agree with Erik that it's likely a driver problem. I'm not very familiar with Linux driver options so perhaps someone else can give more specific advice. Did you install the Intel GPU driver yourself or was it automatically installed by Lubuntu?

I also have a PC with the same Intel chip and I have similar problem. You can try updating to newer Intel driver (see my signature): with it I still have corruptions, but a bit less.
