    I'm in Newbury Park, about 1 city away from the fires. Actually theres some slightly good news, theres a wind blowing north now thats going to change the fire's course, however theres a new wind blowing every 30 minutes or so :D We'll see.

    The only good thing from this is that I don't have to go to school tommarro because of the extremely unhealthy air :P

    There is an insane wild fire burning 50-100 miles from my house. It's been going on for 4 days now and it got serious yesturday when the smoke clouds covered up the whole sky and blocked out the sun. When the sun does shine it makes everything dark orange.

    That was yesturday. Today it's worse, it rains ash and there is a horrible smokey smog covering the sky all the while the fire gets closer and closer. You can't go outside because you can't breathe from the smoke. If this doesn't get any better I might have to evacuate.

    So you see, I'm in a sticky situation :P Today I spent the entire morning cleaning the yard and the roof from things that could catch on fire, i.e. everything.

    I was thinking that since we're in the Roman period and it's a strategic war game, maps should be much more important than the normal minimap we see now.

    Just like in Celtic Kings (and AOM:TT Xpack) you press a button and it brings up the minimap to full screen. In 0AD it would be cool if we did that but what it displays is a more advanced and bigger version of the minimap - maybe a full 3d Render of it? But that would be an insane amount of work to make a supper low quality version of everything in the game for a big birds eye view minimap. And so the minimap also displays important information, like where your allies army is and what they're made up of, where there is an enemy base, your resource income marked above economic buildings.... and so on.

    Good idea?

    A great idea, but I'm not a programmer so I don't know how that could be implimented.

    Empires has roads that automatically conjoin your buildings as your town expands. They're only used for Eye Candy though.

    I think though, it would be a cool idea if you can research a "roads" tech at the market for example, and then a road would be generated on the map that connects your markets/allies markets. That would then increase the speed of caravans by X amount...

    Just a reminder, Bigfoot was a fake, infact the guy who invented him/was him died sometime last year, his family gave his secret out.

    UFOs I'm sure, are fake as well. Really, whats so interesting about Humans that aliens want to fly out to us simply to hover in our sky and cause suspicion about new russian fighter technology.
