  1. Hmm, probably increase per alpha would help us gauge other interesting things. But 300 seems a stretch. But there's no way to tell.
  2. @Classic-Burger I use 25-30. Atleast at my level, (1400, whatever that might mean) it works against enemies. You can snipe away cavalry, and a few spearmen close by is easy counter to melee cav civs. You can camp around the enemy with archers and elephant. But the sight and vision that you mentioned would be fun, but I think it's not completely fair since you can't tilt the camera to ground level to look at the forest floor. Hiding watch towers is interesting too, but easier to spot. Is Praetorians a different game?
  3. Hmm, I see. I meant the number of players only. How many would you put the number of players at? I'm guessing it's about 50 per week and 30 in a day?
  4. With Mauryas you could do it almost the entire game, dancing around nearby woodlines. Of course you need to really work it to the point where the enemy pocket comes to help. Thereby giving your ally all the time advantage to roll them at minute 12-13. In 1v1s you can do both. Slowly adding melee when you're ready to capture. But it needs to be quick wherein enemy does not get eco time to tower all sides of the base. You could also do a small 3-4 minute rush and possibly take a barrack, retreat back and ecobot. I've also tried doing Mercenary archers with Athens, Seleuids, Ptolemies and Macedonians and have had relative success and failure. Latter being due to my own mistakes. But all are fun strategies.
  5. I think all archer civs needs boosting to encourage better and diverse strategies. We can exclude Persians since they have javelinners, but then we could keep them as an outlier archer civilization since they don't need to rely on archers. Same with the Carthaginians who have mercenary slingers, but Carthaginian players who ecobot are almost always a burden on the team. But I'd like archers to be boosted in some way to encourage archer-centric strategies.
  6. @ffm2Interesting statistics. Do you know what the numbers are for active unique players per day, week and month? (Maybe 1 game and/or more)
  7. Yes. When metal surplus, also with Agis Neodomades are extremely cheap. Very very cheap. 50 food 35 metal. You could use them to quickly repop all spearmen maybe little javs. But usually the game never lasts that long and Neo Hoplites do not provide any decisive advantage to break end game.
  8. Towers blocked by houses and palisade. Watchtower just below edge of tower to see incoming attacks. Barracks near towers. My usual playbook.
  9. I think if players play Sparta as only ecobot it gets boring. But if you play super aggressive, pushing early with Spartiates and Skiritai then it becomes fun, cav too, Atleast in my opinion.
  10. I see, I didn't realise. But if you've seen me play, then you will know that was hardly my usual level of player, or I'd atleast like to think so. But I've seen Valihrant beat Borg same strat while being Kushites. So I don't think its broken. You should also try playing it, it gets harder to use and if your opponent is half decent and scouts you he will anticipate it.
  11. Honestly. This has to be a troll post. Why is it becoming a trend to just pick any champion and say its "OP"? Winning against AI can be done without Spartiate with ease. And a P1 rush can be largely delayed with a cavalry rush. Subsequent attack from Spartan player can be held off with towers restricted with houses and ranged units, slingers being sweet spot. And forgot about the economy, if the Spartiate rush doesn't entirely kill the player in the initial rush itself it is a big slowdown for the Spartan player. (lack of P2 metal tech). Frankly. it seems people are just intent on banning everything.
  12. Remove term "nub." Or let's start a strict pecking order of every player that's a 100 points above the other calling them nub. Sorry, that's actually how it is.
  13. I don't see how it is entirely accurate to make this is deal-breaking exploit. I think this calls into question the balance of the game as well. In an adequately balanced game with a fair teams (no significant rating differences between both team, >= 300 between the weakest and strongest on both sides) the chances of this aren't as high; compared to teams that are balanced with 1/2 very experienced players VS 4 novice/intermediates Let's apply this to another "OP"/"broken" feature in the game. Champ cavalry, or naked fanatics. How effective is it when teams are fairly balanced? Not as much. The brokenness of a unit or feature is only as good as a single game's lobby. And the counter to the aforementioned units are available to all players. It's also quite simple to spot if a player's end game is champion cavalry. Irrelevant as the next point is, but there are plenty of early game plays that can be made. And only a few players are good enough to even completely change the tide of the game when using such units en masse. It would also require a lack of market activity from all players. Additionally, "exploit" trade rates appear naturally towards end game, due to an obvious resource mismanagement of any degree of players. It's not uncommon to see sudden spikes in trade rates (500 metal for 1500 food or wood, and vice versa) and profit from them. All in all, I would like to bring it back to paragraph 3. However, an easy fix to this is for hosts to simply ban this from their individual games. I do not understand however why players are banning naked fanatics. There is increasingly a pro -ban lobby appearing within the game, overusing terms like "OP", for no apparent reason. (Vote for me and I will ban the next game unit that you don't like.)
  14. Yet another player I crushed who decided that quitting was convenient since I fed them rating. Clearly they did not expect to lose so badly after winning a few games against me. Player name: Masones My IGN: SenatorLEVI commands.txt metadata.json
  15. @user1 @Dunedan Player 'djj' quit without resigning. Was winning the game heavily at the time. He was host so the game closed. Replay is attached. My ign is Senator_LEVI. Thank you. commands.txt metadata.json
  16. Player name - Bokluk My IGN is SenatorLEVI. Quit without resigning a rated game yesterday, 05-04-2025. Waited a day in order to let him correct this today. Game was already heavily in my favor, he'd lost his CC, my victory was guaranteed, and he quit. Don't have screenshots, he was hosting so he has the full replay.
