  1. Hmm... The only thing I could possibly help with is playtesting, but that's looking a bit far ahead, don't you think?
  2. By the looks of the game, the hoplite's spears seem too short to give any significant bonus vs. cavalry, compared to pikes and the like.
  3. Agreed, but I would only want fine-tuning such as this to be implemented after the game is out, in order to not slow release time even further.

  5. How on Earth can ONE person churn out so many units? If you were on the 0 AD team, it would probably be on its third major update of part II by now (No offense intended towards the 0 AD team). Anyways, how are you gonna organise the eras each of these factions are from? Is it gonna be Empire Earth style, or have various "sub-games" like 0 AD (Part I and II)? Are you gonna release this for free (*pleads*) on the internet? EDIT: Have you done any other sort of stuff yet? (eg. siege weapons, ships, buildings). If so, could you give us a peek? EDIT2: Just noticed that the first animation in the topic post throws a pilum AND fights with a sword. Good on ya!

  7. The Spartans. I don't say that because of the 300 movie, either (I didn't see it). I mean, they were raised from childbirth to become warriors (well, the guys, at least).
  8. Interesting thought... Not my pesonal first priority, but good idea.
  9. good point. I LOVE TURTLING! It's really fun to have, like, a set of thin outer walls, the double thickness middle walls, then triple inner walls! Even if you lose doing this, it's still fun seeing how long it takes for them to get through your walls!

  11. Well, I will take it seriously - Even if your opponent can defend from your rush, they will still be a bit pissed off when they see that your attacks never cease.
  12. Rushing also puts "mental pressure" on your opponent, so it makes a difference if you manage to destroy his/her confidence.

  14. I reckon that you shouldn't be able to build most types of buildings in enemy territories.
  15. My guessing is that the game will immediately go into a fast "territory grab" and then become slightly similar to RISK (Except much, much cooler)

  20. Well, I'm a supporter of Imperial/West Rome being subfactions, there would just be more individuality.
  21. Or how about we go back instead of forward and have prehistoric times? The factions could be neanderthals and cro-magnons.
