2y - 3x = 2 and 2y + 4x = 10 are given --> 2y - 3x - (2y + 4x) = 2 -10 --> 7x = 8 --> x = 8/7 ------------------------OR-------------------------------- 2y - 3x = 2 and y = 5 - 2x --> 2*(5-2x) - 3x = 2 --> 10 - 7x = 2 --> x = 8/7
