Generally with Total War, it is not the case, especially for barbarians. For example the penannular brooch is something widespread during the Migration Period and Viking Period. But they used it for a Pre-Roman Iron Age unit.
Then don´t even talk about using it as a refernce, the problem is that we will have to be say imaginative, which i don´t like.

So they represent them in Total War but i don´t know if it is historically correct

Enough of linguistics, let´s go back to the units, the rol of the women in te germanic army: women archer or spearwomen?

Proto-Germanic for wolf is *wulfaz, becoming wulf in most of the old version of the Germanic languages. *harjaz and *krīgaz are the proto-germanic reconstructions for army and war (krieg).
How would everything be written together? "wulfazkrieg"?

That word looks to be Norse, yes? What about Wolfskrieger?
I really dont know about germany lenguage but if you know more about that i leave it to you.

Going back about units, i propose three units champions:
1) Heavy swordmen (that one is already spoken)
2) Berserker, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berserker) Úlfhéðnar - wolf warrior. The romans colled it "furor teutonicus"
3) Women archer or spearwomen (debatable)

Is the great hall in lieu of a fortress (would make sense)?
Also need a Stable and Archery Range. The Battering Ram can come from the Great Hall or Blacksmith, so no need for a Workshop.
I'm thinking the Civic Center can go sideways with the entrance on the long side (like the current Millennium AD Norse cc) and the Great Hall could long lengthwise with the entrance on the short end.
It´s true that it was not usual for the Germanic tribes to have defensive methods such as building fortresses but i thing is harmful to the gameplay of this faction not to put fortress. The "great hall"can be used as a workshop but they need to have a fortress although with less armor and less life.

This shield desing is historically incorrect for suebians, the anglos and saxon used it around the 5th century onwards after christianization of germanic tribes

Most of Europe during the iron age was based on clans (Celts, Iberians, Thracians etc.) and none were using motte-and-bailey castle. Because this is a development from the middles ages and this has little to do with being Germanic. Your syllogism is not correct.
There is a Celtic-like hillfort used by the Rhine Germans during the 3rd century AD:
Else, there are some very simple stones hillforts from pre-roman Iron Age but with no schematic illustrations:

I thought those kind of castles (motte and bailey were more 8th century castles) ?
The germanic tribes were divided by clans, that model was the precursor of the middle age. They were the precursor of the middle age.
