  1. So I was looking into different mods and I found this implementation in a mod named Delanda Est (I'm posting here so others can know and play that one). They have implemented some burning pig to scare off the elephants too The mod was really good and I'd recommend everyone to have a try.
  2. Hello everyone! I was just wondering, why elephants were used as a replacement for seige machines in 0ad? Historically they were used to scare away enemy troops, break formation, trample and kill enemy soldiers quickly at the start of the battle etc.., Elephants are, more like Iberian fire ship, vulnerable unless used in the very beginning. Or they were made to damage buildings because of lack of replacement for seige? I'd suggest the following, (1) Aura - War elephants scare away enemy military, especially cavalry. All enemy cavalry has -20% attack and enemy infantry has -5% attack within X meters. (2) Elephant madness - War elephants, once it comes under attack, should be used within Y seconds. Else, elephant becomes mad and tramples nearby troops (even friendly troops) (3) Elephant Charge - War elephants can charge towards enemy troops.to kill them within a particular radius, then die. Charging speed should be at least 15 or so. If the enemy formation is tightly packed, then the elephant will kill more and if not, elephant will kill fewer troops. Civilizations like Mayurya, Carthage needs some seige machines like catapult or rams. I don't know specifically about those two civilizations, but other Indian civilizations had used catapults and bolts (bolts were sometimes placed above elephants too), so it won't be historically inaccurate to give bolts and catapults to those civs.
  3. It'll be great to have some commentary in the replays if we are posting them on youtube. It'll be attractive to new players that way, rather than just the match.
  4. Does location plays a role in connection issue? Like if the server is hosted far away, is it more likely that a lag will be seen. I don't get lag all the time, but with some hosts, the lag is severe. I'm from India, I've 4G connection, so is it possible that the location is playing an effect on lag? My internet is pretty fast though, I even tried to play the game with institute internet, I'm still getting the lag issues (irrespective of map size and population; esp with some people as hosts) Edit: Before someone points out that the host has bad connection, it's usually the case that I'm the only person experiencing the lag with certain hosts.
  5. I'm having a similar problems lately. Yesterday the multiplayer game that I was playing has hanged. I'm getting more frequent "lost connection" issues and lags than before though.
  6. Sorry I didn't post my question clearly. The unit promotion (elite rank with 1 kill in age-III), which is a compensation for -10% population limit, is mentioned in wiki but not in-game. The -10% population limit is mentioned everywhere though.
  7. Laws of Lycurgus In wiki page, I found that spartans have -10% population and their units get promoted directly to elite rank with 1 kill in age III. But it's not mentioned in game. Is it the case that one is outdated? Does spartan units still have that perk? Testudo, Syntagma and Phalanx What do these formations do? What kind of bonuses will they provide for units in the formation? I read in this forums in a comment that with Phalanx formation, the damage is distributed with every other unit in the said formation. Can someone clarify this? I couldn't find any official wiki or in-game explanation. Iphicrates and formation bonus Say I keep some citizen soldiers and Iphicrates in a formation, which will give every unit +3 armour. Now while fighting, they are going to disperse anyways, so does the formation bonus apply after they naturally disperse when an enemy unit approaches?
