  1. i really liked equilibrium... not exactly the deepest movie ever, but i liked it story line too (the feelings struggle within)
  2. hey mates, ive always had this idea that OpenGL & 3D programming in general is WAAAAAAAAAAY over my head... however, i could never completely kill my never-ending desire to learn uber-cool gfx programming... i guess gfx & AI are my MAIN interests in computer programming... anyway, after finally graduating from college, and having not done any gfx programming in the last 3 years (last i did was a trivial project for college) i decided now i had the time to try and take a look... i found (off course) from google a lot of great tutorial sites about opengl, specially NeHe... however, there is one that i found out to be quite outstanding... This site is VideoTutorialsRock.com... and as im sure u can already guess, the tutorials are video presentations... the site is really nice and the tutorials are really REALLY basic... i mean, they wont let u get any real hard core stuff, but they sure got me to grips with ALL the basics i need... better yet, with every tutorial, there's the source code which compiles without ANY trouble on any platform (Win/Mac/Linux) I will probably go over to NeHe or find some other more serious OpenGL site (probably buy the OpenGL SuperBible) once im done... but for now, this site seems cool enough just thought id share this with you and keep you posted as to my 3D learning adventure
  3. cool... i couldnt catch it since im in the eastern hemisphere... but i saw it on the LAST time it happened (earlier this year, march i guess) and all i can say is... WOW... always looks fantastic... me & my gf went out to a little stretch of the desert by Cairo, and we had a picnic there by night and watched it... was pretty cool
  4. hey mate... i just want to say, i find this (and the Mideval mod) BOTH a VERY very good idea... i think they will make playing the game THREE unique experiences... Hope you keep up the good work and impress us all Good luck
  5. hey, where did u find this? i got a link to this over the RSS feed from MAKE magazine a few days back... maybe we have something in common?
  6. lol.... yes and about the "one experimentation when you're in the military" ????
  7. OMG... im posting another reply... i just cant blv how funny that @#$% was... thank you for the post
  8. omg... OMG!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!! this is WAY off the funny scale... couldnt agree more... indoor retail shopping area? isnt that a mall? and since when did malls have a RAPID TACTICAL FORCE... i mean, here in egypt we only have a small dispatch of the navy marines, a couple commandos, a scout/sniper team, a tank, an air-craft carrier and 2-3 destroyers, but thats about it... why the tactical force? Seriously though... WICKED POST
  9. i like big maps too... gives you time to actually build up your economy and "get a life" before bringing out the big-guns
  10. Hello back mate... and welcome to the forums
  11. I must say... im in also for the raiding idea... makes more sense to me... i mean, ok, im sure the plunder is a viable resource (you destroy a building, or a ship and it leaves behind lots of wood, etc etc) but the idea of raiding is also very cool to me
  12. Well, if we're talking realistic historical swords, then THIS would be my choice... not that i could ever afford it
  13. Congratulations man... real nice piece of equipment... i have myself a pair of Katana's and Wakizachi's (sorry if i miss-spelled it) that i adore... ill be posting back a pic of them soon They are quite reliable and rugged, and ive used them for sparring training alot, though, they are not sharpened How about that gladius of yours? it looks quite cool really... is it useable? is it sharp?
