No, it's not merely a curiosity, it's an example of the profound influence Tolkien has had on our popular culture and language. Many fantasy games and books started using "dwarves" instead of "dwarfs", after Tolkien. Dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive, therefore "dwarves" is nowadays included as an alternative plural. (Also, the folklore and fantasy meaning of dwarf is now commonly listed before the "an abnormally small person" entry.) Likewise "hobbit" and "orc" have entered the dictionary. By writing "dwarves" you showed you yourself are influenced by the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, without realizing it.
However, words are not copyrightable, nor are concepts or ideas. Tolkien's "mithril" has been included in possibly hundreds of games, including Age of Mythology, and there is a Noldor ship in 0 A.D. Erring on the safe side is often sound advice, but one can err too much, and limit oneself unnecessarily. A lot more is legal than many people assume or claim.
Uh, that definitely dependa in your country...

I believe it's kind of a gray area. As long as they do not sell it they should be fine.
I don't think so. I think as long they do not sell it they might be lucky.

why? how?
This might help you: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Modding_Guide
(In short: create a zip containing a mod.json and your map under the path it should be placed)
-
You could create a mod with this map, that mades it easier to install...

no, because I can't understand exactly how to create the "local.cfg" file and what to write in this text file or what to modify.
I'm not an expert on linux but I can manage to do manipulations to create the personal configuration file if i'm explained step by step !
Can you help me ?
(I'm French and use an online translator to understand all this! )
Already seen that? https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/HotKeys#CustomHotKeys

Tried changing it to something else?

Man that will be awesome

Do you know, that you can just create an account on transifex and fix it?
Else I guess the Spanish translators help you...

Normally LAN works without problems.
One thing you could do is uploading the mainlog ( https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths ) of both PCs after they tried to connect.
Else maybe @elexis has more ideas...

Strange.
Just to be sure: you joined via IP right?
Tried using a router/switch/hub in between?
If that doesn't help, I am clueless...
(If you have some experience with network, maybe monitoring the traffic on both sides helps...)
-
Are both pcs in the same LAN?
Are you connected directly without router?
What is the output of the "ip a"?
What is the IP you tried joining at?

Don't resurrecting heroes is an interesting idea. I like it

This is kind of intentional, to prevent the player from just parking his hero onto a ship and hiding him out in the middle of the ocean, thus unnecessarily prolonging the end game in a Herocide match.
THOOOOOUGH, I think with the Spies tech, this potential problem has lessened somewhat. Perhaps it can be revisited.
Afaik you can allow hero garrison in gamesetup by setting a checkbox in gamesetup.
Wrt spies: Do we already allow spying heroes?

It happened playing as the Kushites. As the game went on with more structures than I mentioned, including CC's and towers. My AI Seleucid ally had a similar issue, with a tower stuck almost halfway done, perhaps cause I assisted with it's construction (but I'm not sure if it stuck at the point I started assisting). I didn't save the replay, but should be my last game played, would it be accessible?
All replays are saved automatically.

What about redoing the territory borders like it's proposed in
So a clean long smooth alpha transition towards the inside of the territory. (This imho looks nicer and also has the advantage, that the player can easily distinguish inside and outside of the territory)
(The art files are binaries/data/mods/public/art/textures/misc/territory_border.png and binaries/data/mods/public/art/textures/misc/territory_border_mask.png. The size can be changed in binaries/data/mods/public/simulation/data/territorymanager.xml.)

Are all changes mirrored to github? Or is this only an outdated state?

The bug goes even farther: it always researches the first tech, no matter which one you select. (I wonder that nobody noticed that xD)

So, I don't know if this happens in Vanilla, because there is a distinct lack of paired techs in Vanilla, but in DE I noticed that it looks like the cost requirement for both techs in a pair must be met for me to research either one.
In this shot, you see I am attempting to research Battlefield Triage for 300 food and 200 glory, which I have enough of, but the game says I have insufficient wood.
Here, I am attempting to research Sluicing, which costs food and wood, but the game says I have insufficient metal.
Will look into that. (Ping me here, if there is nothing new regarding that in the next days)

inherited rotation would lead to issues if it's angled like in the screenshots
Sure, but maybe rays from straight above are enough...

If that was trigger able it would be nice for tutorials and campaigns. I'm afraid we can't implement that without blood sweat and tears...
Just make a god ray actor/entity with particles (assuming that would be easy) and let the trigger spawn it?

They all look nice, but for gameplay reasons I'd stick with one colour theme per unit, perhaps with minor variations. Maybe the white or bronze one, or a mix of the two (maybe the white shoulder-pteryges on the bronze version), as the less intrussive ones to the various possible teamcolours.
Shouldn't there also be some player color?
And for the remaining color: that could be the different ranks.
