  1. And it reads cd's fine?

I once had a dvd burner problem, and I fixed it by going into device manager and uninstalling the drive. Then on the next boot it redetects the drive and it fixed itself.

System restore sometimes fixes problems like that...

  2. Halo fans will have to upgrade their computer if they want to follow Master Chief's adventures on the PC.

Microsoft has announced that the PC version of Halo 2 will only work on the new version of Windows called Vista.

The decision could make it expensive for many to play the game if they have to buy the new version of Windows and extra hardware for their PC.

Microsoft has given no definite release date for Vista but it is expected to be available by the end of 2006.

Saw a discussion about this on Planet64AMD. That's retarded if you MUST have Vista for it! ;)

  3. The reason why I say they are the BEST, which is only my opinion, is that they are not meant to be mobile. You can't carry around the amp, the adapter, ect. to use in other things. That is why I said they are good for a COMPUTER where you don't move them around. My headphones are not the BEST for mobility, as I already said, but are just fine for me and my computer and my budget.

  4. Now this is our American groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil!

Here's a little rhyme that goes with it:

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Around the country there are many imitators of me.

In Harrisburg there is Gus who appears on TV

    working for the lottery.

    Then all around town,

    Cute groundhog statues abound.

They all look like me, I found.

Today on the Knob as I'm doing my job,

I don't like this likeness of me.

It's my shadow I see. Six more weeks of mild winter there will be.

  5. You may have heard of this Optimus Keyboard .

Each and every key on it has a small OLED screen that can be customized to display anything you want... special Chinese type fonts, math symbols, english, pictures, animated pictures, ect.

I first read about the keyboard over a year ago, and they have plans of producing it. But they just announced this new mini 3 button keyboard today.

    Optimus Mini 3 Keyboard

This one will be taking preorders soon, and is about 100 dollars US. It can display almost anything on the buttons. Just take a look at the flash page an click on some of the links.

I really hope the big keyboard goes into production as it seems to have so many uses. It will definatly give ZBoard some competition.

  6. Score! ;)

There was this rock climbing store that sold carbiners for 79.95, but the website said 7.95, so lots of people ordered them at the cheap price and actully got them!

Maybe you'll actully get them for free!

  7. I saw this press release a few days ago about Netflix.

NETFLIX WILL SUPPORT HIGH-DEF DVD AT LAUNCH

Online DVD Rental Leader Embraces "Next Wave of Consumer Excitement"

LOS GATOS, Calif. - January 24, 2006 - Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX), the world's largest online movie rental service, today announced it will carry the first movies available in HD DVD when the new high-definition format launches in late March, according to plans recently outlined by several major movie studios, and said it will similarly offer titles in the Blu-ray format when that product launches, expected to be later this year.

"High-definition DVD is the next wave of excitement in home entertainment and we'll be there at its inception," said Netflix Chairman and CEO Reed Hastings. "With far sharper images, better sound and more features, we expect high-def will greatly enhance DVD's consumer appeal and extend its popularity over the next decade or more."

With Toshiba's new high-def DVD player now available to be ordered for March delivery at several leading online and big-box retailers, a number of Hollywood studios have announced plans to launch both new and catalog titles on HD DVD beginning late that month. Warner Home Video said at the recent Consumer Electronics Show that it will introduce 24 titles in HD DVD on March 28. Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment and The Weinstein Company made similar announcements.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Lionsgate and Paramount also said at the Consumer Electronics Show that they have each selected between 10 and 20 titles to launch concurrent with the debut of Blu-ray hardware later this year.

Netflix said it will make the high-def DVD titles available at launch as a way of supporting the next-generation DVD format and signaling its belief that while initial adoption may be limited the market will eventually migrate to high-definition.

"For those subscribers who have an immediate interest in renting movies in high-def, we're committed to making the full range of titles available at Netflix the moment they're introduced," said Mr. Hastings.

I'm glad they will be doing this so when there is a final format we can rent those online as we do with our normal dvds which is a great deal. ;)
