March 14 today! (3/14)
Anyone have some fun activities at their school?
The math class next door had a pie eating contest, and a pie throwing contest! Unfortunatly our teacher wouldn't let us bring food.
But that didn't stop me from wearing my PI t-shirt!

I saw this link while browsing Makezine.
This guy collected those annoying AOL cds from 7-11, Target, Office Max, ect. and built a massive chair all out of cds!
Their page starts HERE. And it goes through step by step on the construction of the chair.

Yea, they seem to have some bad luck.
It kinda made me mad that the guy could just easily walk right in. CTU should have had the pictures of the user on their card and in their own database!
(Nice to see a avid fan of 24! )

Haha, interesting poll Abby.
Yea, I have to agree...throwing up would be pretty bad.

I have about 18 invites left if anyone would like them just leave your email here or pm me.
8.0 is the newest version of Messenger and it has some neat new features such as the 'shared folder' where you and a contact add files into it and it automatically downloads and keeps them synced with each other.
Once you get the email invite, it will instruct you to sign in with your .net account. Then it makes a note to it that you can use the Live features. It will direct you to download the new version and aign you in. It keeps all pervious settings that you had before.
One thing that seems a little funky and buggy to me is that it crashes everytime I click on the activities button. But since it is Beta, that's expected. Also, MSPLUS dosen't work with this version right now, but they said they are working on it.

Looks like the PS3 is being delayed from Spring release to sometime in the holidays. I look forward to the bluray and high def games on it.
-
Haha, that's nice!

Yea, I think they should have shot for the 360 atleast. That's what need for speed most wanted did, they covered all the older consoles and the next gen and pc.

Their site was updated with some more videos, pictures, and information about the release date today.

UPDATE:
Here's some more info on price, release date, requirements.
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 won't actually require Half-Life 2 to play, Valve's explained, and although the game will be "four to six hours" long, marketing director Doug Lombardi reckons it's "markedly richer" in terms of content quality.
Basically, following the recent announcement that Half-Life 2: Aftermath would be known as Half-Life 2: Episode 1, and that a second episode is already in development, we sent off a few questions to Doug to make sure of some things. As always, he said lots of interesting stuff.
The change from Aftermath to Episode 1 was "simply a name change" he says, when asked about the shift to episodic content - which wasn't a shift at all, he adds, since "the format of episodic releases was decided before Half-Life 2 was made available".

Nor has the name-change meant any alteration to the content. "It is worth noting, however, that one of the benefits of developing an episodic game is that the team is able to produce more iterations of each aspect and flesh out each scene far more than in the production of non-episodic games. The result: Episode 1's complexion and density is markedly richer than Half-Life 2."
As for the recently announced Episode 2, it's "been in production for some time". "I promise it will arrive much faster than HL2 arrived after HL1," he adds. Well you'd hope so!
As to pricing and content: "For HL2: Episode 1 we're targeting four to six hours of new single player gaming plus HL2 DM and HL DM: Source for $19.99 - HL2 not required," he confirms. "For Episode 2, we're planning a similar offering at the same price."
And of course Episode 1 is due out on April 24th over Steam, with pre-orders and pre-loading options due beforehand. We'll be bringing you a review as soon as humanly possible, obviously. Thanks to Doug for answering our questions.

Yea, it's a cool service.
I have some classic rock, hip hop channels.
-
Happy birthday Joshua!
-
Haha, that's so messed up.
They're not getting our gatos!
-
Yea, that's been one of the funniest things in the Late Night televison shows (Leno, Stewart, Connan, Letterman). The real shooting that is.
Clever one of Tim.
-
Wo, wonder when that one will be out.
-
I edited the title so now it has the new name.
-
UPDATE:
Apparently it will NOT be called Aftermath anymore.
Instead it will be called Episode One. And it will be a 4-6hr journey starting off from HL2. Price will be about 20 bucks, and they plan to have several of these mini expansion packs made that follow in sequence.
-
Me too. It'd be fun to test it out.
-
Cool screenshots. I'll have to remember this one when it comes out.
I'm also keeping my eye out on Goldeneye Source. They released a pre-alpha on x-mas day. http://goldeneyesource.com/
It's basically a recreation of the Goldeneye game of N64 for HL2.
In the aplha, the guns only shoot paintballs.

Haha, that must be interesting to watch.
Which song is he trying to perform?
-
I watched some bobsleding. That was pretty cool, and so was the snowboarding.
I only caught a little of the hockey game of Finland v Canada, but it looked intense. Better than pro hockey.
-
Neat, you got it to work.
I was just thinking that if you shared the drive, then you could see it on the other computer and click on the install file.
Thats what some computer labs do with cds, they make images of them and put them on virtual cd drives.

That's one of my favorite parts of a surround sound system: being able to hear wear shots come from.
