  1. First, I want to say that I love AoM and 0 A.D is amazing so far!

My questions : 1)Can you add more voices to the units? (Greeks, Egyptians, Barbarians specific to each general faction.)

2)Can you make a guide how to mod the music in the game? (and voices of the units?)

3)Can you add to the ptolemy faction an Egyptian chariot archers?

4)Can you make a friend list for MP lobby?

5)Can you add relics? (that gives bonuses)

Thanks! :bye: going back to play now

    1) People are working on it I think.

    3) Might be nice, but it seems that 0 A.D. limits the variety of units available for each faction. Its not like the Total War games where you attempt to include as much variety of units you can to each faction. Otherwise I don't know if we'll have chariots or not.

    4) WIP

    5) Been discussed a lot in the forums. Relics or certain objects like the golden fleece or the head of Medusa would grant certain bonuses or be a victory condition. 0 A.D. just needs somebody to be interested enough to work on it.

  2. Vassals seem like a cool idea, but it seems more of something that belongs in a civ game setting. In a civ game setting, you have the time to micro manage your politics, military, and economy. In a game like Age of Empires, its a race to kill off your opponents. The more effective and quick decisions you make in 0 A.D. is the more closer you may be into getting past ahead of your opponent.

An idea for this may be to have an automatic vassal option. If an opponent kills off a large number points of a player, the player may be given a yes or no option to becoming a vassal. If clicked yes, the player becomes an ally that cannot change his/her diplomacy and a percentage of each gathered resource deposited to a dropsite will go to the ruling civ.

  3. Sorry about not keeping up with you guys. I bought a new computer that couldn't run 0 A.D. for some weird error, and eventually the graphics card pooped out. I dug out my old computer, and I am resuming the development.

I am not liking the looks of the crenelations, and I could do the ledge some more tweaking to give the edges a look. Here is what I've got so far, and the blue layer is only temporary. This is without a speculation and normals layer.

  4. Some factions have starting civilian units that counter other civilian units from a different faction. Romans can wipe out Macedonian civilian soldiers. If another player can wipe out the first 15 working units of the game, the game is dramatically delayed and victory is guaranteed for the early rusher. Do you make a racing game just so that people have the ability to run you off the course completely at start?

  5. Wait, there's worse than scythetwirler?:)

Oh wait, I did mean scythetwirler. Sorry for throwing names, sanderd. We never played together because you were always busy when I wanted to play. I also dont look down on oppurtunistic strategies, but early rushing defeats the point of the other stages of the game. Its nice to play to your civilization's strengths and builds to counter whatever your opponent throws at you, rather than attempt to kill off the first 15 workers your opponent creates in the first 5 minutes of the game.
  6. Archers were such an ethically varied group of people in the Ptolemaic Empire. I don't think archers should represent only one group of people, but its not wrong either that Nubian archers were involved. Plus I kinda like the mercenary feel of buying them from the town center. If only I could play the game again.

  7. I think ambient battle sounds should only be played when there is a number of infantry and cavalry engaged. Otherwise the sound will not fit in a situation such as archers versus archers. I also suggest taking out the additional weapon sounds from the ambience and only apply the sounds of weapons from the units themselves.
