The towers look like something I would see at an amusement park. Interesting, but they don't make sense.

Yeah, I was wanting to use the elephant and civilian soldier models to help me create the props in the right size.
-
Can I have the model of the elephant and soldiers?

The Ptolemies are already my best playing faction too. My pikemen bulldoze through people when equiped with upgrades. The Elephants paired with pikemen just absolutely devastate buildings. Really helps when you don't have to pay resources for houses and mills which gives me an easy start in the beginning.
I don't use the units provided in the military settlement though. The Gauls are too expensive (100 metal each) for their quality. The Greek cavalry are weak, and I would rather use the champion cavalry or elephants. I don't see the point in another type of cavalry either.
Buildings look good in my opinion when playing on Oasis, or the Nile. When playing on the Cantabarian Highlands, the buildings do look cartoony, and they really stand out from the green grass. Perhaps if you make the buildings look more brown or more faded it may fit.

If Romans get their reforms, then I would like to see romanized infantry for the Ptolemies, Mythos.

I like that one!

Yeah, I just played against Macedon today with the Ptolemics for an awesome pikemen on pikemen battle. I got knocked up by their silver shields instead.
I would like to see some mercenary settler hoplites along with those brand new romanized infantry.
Since the ptolemaics faction are my favorite, may I contribute helmet props for the infantry and cavalry?

Awesome job! How do you texture the models like that though? I never knew you could do that in Blender?
I usually select faces on the model and then spend an hour laying them all out on the UV map. I then export the UV map and spend hours painting inside the faces on the UV spreadsheet. Then I open up another program that puts together all the models and textures together and act as a resource to provide to the game I play.

Enrique's miniature display elephants. He hides them in his pocket.
-
Focus more on the Greek and other culture military colonists rather than nubians.
-
Make death screams and moans that can chill you to the bone when you hear them played. Make the combat sound brutal!
-
There was only 5-6 actual scenes depicting ancient civilization, and the winner was no where even related to the ancient civilization theme. Lol!

Yeah, that logo with the red reflect reminds me of DOOM's logo. Perhaps make the logo look like it was chiseled out of marble might be a fun idea. If not marble, then use a quality of some globalised material used for creating artwork in 0 ad. Then look at the artistic styles that come along with it.

Yay! A sound lead!
Ew. Chivalry.

I do wonder what ever happened to the entrenched camp suggestion to have the ability to change to a town center?
How about a game mode where players may pick and choose where they decide to place a town center on a map? At start, a player is randomly chosen to place his/her town center on the map first; then the next player in order places their town center. After all town centers have been placed, the fog of war is generated and thus begin the game.

It would be nice if there was a temporary map download folder, so when a group of players want to play a map that someone created they can download and play it without exiting the game.

I am a little confused about the suggestion that archers have to be in a tower in order to shoot? That doesn't make any sense to me.
I think walls are supposed to be left untouched by non-artillary units? I thought I read somewhere that it may be implemented.
I agree that farms should be left alone unless a player gives the command to destroy them.

It still does have the traditional system in-game. Elite troops can not collect resources, but they kill off civilian soldiers pretty quickly. Also it is irritating in AoE games to have to kill off civilians in order to produce more soldiers, so why not have civilian-soldiers?
There are bonuses to producing females over males. They gather more food quickly than males do, and they only cost food. In a multiplayer game, it is necessary to keep producing gatherers, so females help in the beginning if you run out of wood, stone, or metal to create civilian-soldiers.

I heard that we get games going on weekends? If not, it never hurts to establish a 0ad game night.
-
@unarmed: how about instead of giving soldiers names, we give them titles like "badass slinger"?
-
Yeah, I was hoping people would hop on to this, but I guess the IRC channel is more favorable.

If you are willing to create 3D artwork on the computer, check out blender.org

Perhaps a wonder could be given technology to research. That or I thought it was agreed that the wonders would have an effect. The lighthouse in Alexandria for example would reveal the fog of war in water.

Don't be offended, but: Not a very helpful post. I think you know that I don't have the capabilities to do that. If I had I would have done it already, or mentioned that I would do that. I would love to contribute to the mod just like you (and I'm planning to!), I want to learn modelling and texturing also because one day (far in the future) I want to make my own mod for this game (I would prefer to wait; until I can actually mod, the game itself is finished or in beta stage, and the concept of my mod is finished).
Have fun!
It took me a day to learn and create a helmet for a game, but it does not take long to learn.
Crowd-Sourced Civ: Ptolemaic Egyptians (Ptolemies)

Give the Ptolemaics a champion infantry unit called the "agema." The agema were crack troops taken out of the phalanxes and placed into an elite one. They were the guard of Ptolemy and recieved the highest pay. The agema would sport muscled cuirasses, greaves, and plumed helmets. The Seleucids have their own agema as well.
Also, hurry up and create some special ability for a ptolemaic hero. I'm still rather pissed off from the night my 100-200 or so fully upgraded pikemen were dissolved by Carthaginian War Elephants because of some stupid attack bonus from a hero.
I will put up a task thread about the towered elephants when I have my free time this busy weekend
