In Linux, on BSD, Mac display is broken on Catalina and the game cannot be played on Ryzen CPUs...how many user are affected? I think there are not such many users. So you can release known issues. So these users should use previous version. So I think 0ad developer team makes more users happy if there are a new version released very soon with such limitations.
The current version are released in december 2018!
There are many fixes and I think many people think the project is dead. So can you move the last (not fixed) tickets to alpha 25 and release the alpha 24?
If the new version are notified on some gaming/news sites are you are looking for Programmers, Animators and Artists. Maybe there could find some new voluteers.
The stats at http://feedback.wildfiregames.com/static/cpucaps.html (could anyone trigger to update it?!) "Based on data submitted by players of 0 A.D. from 2014-01-01 to 2014-07-01" So I think there are not so many Pentium 3 users now. There are also 96.4% of users, who used a x86-64 processor.
The OpenRA project plans to drop the Windows XP support to gain access to more modern programming APIs: https://plus.google.com/+OpenRAnet/posts/dWQZG1DuAE2 Maybe an option also for 0.A.D.? Maybe performance relevant? Wordwide marketshare of Windows XP is ~10%: https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=10&qpcustomd=0 Windows XP support has ended at 8th April 2014: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsForBusiness/end-of-xp-support

advantages: - user, like me, who wants not to registrate use/some times use the lobby - chat to another player using the automated genereated nicknames disadvantages: - programming that feature spam: - anonymous user should limited in writing to prevent spam (message count per minute, message text limit like 100 chars per message) - or maybe: not able to post to public lobby only to user directly
nickname: automatically generated: anonymous1,anonymous2,anonymous3... or player1,player2,player3... or 0adplayer1,0adplayer2,0adplayer3... ... So you can chat using this nicknames.
Personally I dont like to register for playing via lobby (anonymous access possible in the future). I use the IP address to connect with my friends to play 0.A.D. Hopefully more performance patches are in soon. I play mostly only one game, because it take very long while stuttering every few seconds for 1 second in late game (>= 100 unity/team).
Any progress for support dynamically sized GUI elements? I still prefer to set a new higher minimum resolution. http://zaynar.co.uk/0ad-pub/resolutions-20140313.html is over 1 year old (anybody can trigger him to update these statistics?). You can avoid problems like that: trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/2926 Current world wide screen resolutions: https://www.netmarketshare.com/report.aspx?qprid=17
Nice. Hoping for more such mods/maps for Survival of the Fittest for the next 0 A.D. version. Is there a central place for mods to tbe download für the game?
