Aeros
Many improvements and changes have taken place with the graphics code in the past couple of months. Our shadow system has been updated so as to render self-shadowing in the game world. The team is proud to show this new graphical feature through a screenshot featuring an advanced Celtic village. Also we'd like to use this opportunity to reveal one of the Celtic special buildings. Upon researching all the technologies in the Husbandry line, the Celts gain access to the Genetic Engineering Lab. This economic building boosts the production rates of nearby farmsteads and enables the training of significantly faster and stronger cavalry. These improvements allow you to train cavalry equipped with a wide variety of enhancements such as horns to intimidate the enemy, scale skin to make them invulnerable to pierce attacks, or camel humps to prevent butt-rash.http://0ad.wildfiregames.com/~art/cheezy/screens/celts_genetics_lab_thumb.jpgClick Here to view the screenshot
toph
i like the shadows, but the texture of the building could be improved. Doesnt like the differents between the wall and the "stairs" (doesnt know hw i should say this) the stones from the wall looks like pasted. RiderOfEternity
Hmm the shadows in the previous screenshots look better to me.
Mythos_Ruler
It's all about shadowmap resolution and ambient color, which are easily tweaked.
Dnas
The shadowing setup had to be greatly editted to allow self-shadowing. Notice how the Genetic Engineering lab's spikes cast shadows on itself and the building itself casts a shadow on the soldier behind it, etc.Now that it is capable of self-shadowing, it shouldn't be too difficult to smooth the edges, increase shadow resolution, adjust ambient color, or whatever is needed to make the shadows prettier. Rinion
That is so fake. OBVIOUSLY, the Carthaginians were the ones experimenting with Genetics.
