General rule: If the superintendent can't see outside his window, then there may be a snow day. If the superintendent walks outside and freezes to death before getting to his car, there may be a snow day. However, just getting 3 feet of snow means that school is open. I suspect that the Friday was more of a random give-teachers-a-break-day.
