game crashes after full systemwide update

i just updated my pc
now 0ad doesnt launch
man this sucks
i tried to launch the game from terminal and here is the error
(note i also started the debugger that was with the game, and it says this error specifically at the end

      after 320 requests (320 known processed) with 64 events remaining.

Out of curiosity, what exactly did you update? The chipset drivers? A windows update?
