Ceres
Hello! According to the Wiki, maps are located there: C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\0ad\mods\user\maps\ Using 0 A.D. 24a and Atlas, our kids created some maps and wanted to play them 1:1 on 2 different PCs. My plan is to place the custom maps on a shared drive. Is that possible? How can I tell 0 A.D. to search for maps under a custom path, e.g. a shared drive? Would I have to move also the standard maps (that come with the game installation) to that new place, or is it even possible to give an additional path for custom maps only? I could of course copy the custom maps created on one PC to the other, but that would create extra work for me. Besides, the lads would like to share their creations. Thanks for your help! Stan`
IIRC 0 A.D. doesn't play nice with network drive. One way would be to move the whole my documents folder to that network drive but that sounds risky. There is also no way to make the game download what's missing so you'll have to copy the file manually. You could create a script that syncs both folder with the network drive using synctoy or similar.
Ceres
In fact, I use shared drives for all Windows users' desktop, documents, and downloads folders, backed by 2 Synology Diskstations. I didn't want to complicate my question. This setup works very stable, because I also use Windows' offline synchronization function. However, I can only redirect these complete folder paths to the server(s), I assume. I will experiment further to find out how to use the 0 A.D. path with the maps as a softlink (that's what it's called at least in Linux - don't know it's name in Windows) on a shared drive used by all users at home.
