Specter456
Hello together, I have a question about playing multiplayer over the internet. (0ad) At the moment I have made a port forwarding oft the game server port in my fritzbox. Any client can join my hosted game over the multiplayer lobby. Working great. But if anybody try to connect to my hosted game over direct ip, than it does not work? What could here be the problem? Thank you very much! Silier
Hello, can they join if you host in multiplayer lobby without Stun? If they can't, you do not forward port correctly, be sure to forward on router and allow the port on your pc firewall. It's udp port. If they can, be sure to tell them correct ip, it needs to be the public one.
Specter456
Hello, you are right. If I disable Stun than it doesn't work too! Hmm but what could be false with my port forwarding. (picture in the attachment) (Yes I give my public ipv4 to my playing partner)

Silier
You may need to check your pc firewalls and antivirus as well, else I do not have any ideas right now.
Specter456
I'm playing on linux without a firewall/antivirus software. Okay. Maybe I should ask by my internet provider why the forwarding is not working...
Stan`
To diagnose this maybe you can try with 4G? Also I believe (not sure) that you cannot host a direct IP game through the lobby
Specter456
What do you mean with 4G? => to make a hotspot for my pc with for example my smartphone and try it via the mobile data? I don't know how to do port forwarding over a hotspot... But in the meantime I solved the problem! I asked yesterday evening by my internet provider. They had to enable that my fritzbox is really visible and reachable with a public ipv4. I did not know that my provider have to do that before port forwarding can work! Again what learned! Thank you for your help!
