My Suggestions

Hello,

I am a big fan of 0 A.D. and really I like playing it. Maybe later I will try to help programming the game.

Anyway, there are a few things that in my opinion would make the game even more epic.

What I mean is a GOD-Mode.

An additional mode for single player where you can edit the map (in parts) while the game is running.

It's like you have an additional bar where some kind of spells are available which e.g. let resources grow or animals appear or do other things. And the spells are adapted to the gods of the played civilisation. Like in Age of Mythology. Another thing I thought of was adding some kind of menu to place and manage all the npcs, for example if your current enemies are all defeated but you don't want to start another game with your empire you can add a new enemy, maybe give them boni like an army or more resources, and then continue the game...

The next feature I thought of was something I have seen in a strategy game only once:

I think it could be funny to be able to switch between the NPC civilisations and your own one.

In the game Rise of Nations there was the possibility in single player to make the other fractions all player-fractions and then ingame you were able to click on the village center of another nation and then you switched the fraction and get control over this nation and lose control over your previous nation. And you can do that with every player-fraction in single player.

This could be useful e.g. for beginners who want to get to know the single civilisations. With all this features added they could try out several civs at once which can nevertheless fight with each other.

What do you think of these ideas?

Almost all of that are things that you can do already, albeit not in exactly the way you describe/not as easily or fully-featured.

While there is no god-mode you can launch a match within Atlas (the Scenario/Map Editor) directly, and there you can place resources/units/buildings/etc and even change the terrain as the game is running. Only some of the changes remain when you reset the simulation (i.e. stop running the match) though, so it's of course not as easy to use and continue using as a proper god-mode.

I would say that it's beyond the scope of the game to implement a god-mode though. Not because I think it would be too difficult to do, but rather because it would add too much to the game that most people wouldn't use. Better to make a mod or spinoff game that focuses on a god-mode gameplay. :)

To be able to control the different civilizations first enable the Developer overlay (by selecting the menu option or pressing Alt+D), and then select "Change perspective". This option allows you to switch between the different players and control it, then select another and control that, etc.
