Ragnar Lothbrok
As of right now, in the game there is no way to send out units that cannot be seen by most enemies. A strategy thats as old as time itself is that of having hidden men to report enemy movement. This is a MUST for 0 AD.
Thorfinn the Shallow Minded
It is planned to some extent. The Iberians will certainly have this ability, as should the Celtic tribes.
RoekeloosNL
Some units sould be able to hide in a forest so you can lay ambushes like the barbarians and maybe some spy units with greater line of sight. Sanguivorant
It could definitely be a special feature for the Iberians and Celts, who did ambush to the fullest extent. I'm thinking of some expensive upgrade that would give all infantry the power to camouflage. Some unique units could also be hidden when in the aura of a tree. Radagast.
We've accidentally talked about it in more detail here: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18645&findpost=291427 It could definitely be a special feature for the Iberians and Celts, who did ambush to the fullest extent. I'm thinking of some expensive upgrade that would give all infantry the power to camouflage. Some unique units could also be hidden when in the aura of a tree. An other option would indeed be to test each (affected/camouflage-capable) unit for the proximity of a tree and then flag this unit as hidden for as long as the proximity isn't left. (we have to check every entity for this, thus that's more expensive than the other in the link mentioned variant which we could get with 0 extra cost as we check the proximity for enemy units anyway. nevertheless it's an interesting option to have this proximity check at least for all trees.)
