RoekeloosNL
Hi i just greated a account for this forum but i have a Question/Sugestion.Is it not more realistic to destroy buildings with torches and archers use fire arrows so buildings go in flammes and then colleps in too rubble?and maybe a big dust cloud so it looks more realistic.Gr RoekeloosNL
sanderd17
We've had this suggestion a few times, but it's hard to do as we have some problems with our animations. If we want to add a new animation, we have to redo all animations for that unit, as the originals are lost. And it requires some programming work too.
RoekeloosNL
Ok that is a shame. what tools do you guys use for animations? so you cant add a new animations for some units without lossing the others
sanderd17
I'm not an animator, so I can't tell a lot about it. But the team uses blender for animation. And they can add or modify animations, if they would have to originals. It's like modifying a file is easier if you have the original, not just a print of it.But Enrique is busy with animations now. First creating animations for units that have none (like the elephants, and the tiger), and then recreating the animations for units that already have animations. feneur
Plus generally speaking siege engines should be used to destroy buildings rather than units
Wijitmaker
Plus generally speaking siege engines should be used to destroy buildings rather than units Aye, when animations were created... units were not supposed to destroy buildings. Instead they would capture them.
RoekeloosNL
maybe only add a big dust effect when the building collapse in too rubble so you dont see the rubble come up but get a more realistic way
Lion.Kanzen
It's possibly few seconds. the player ( Ai/human) can't build into the place where the building down. The Ai have a tendency to rebuild immediately over the rumble.
