Newbie - Do I install Alpha 13 over 12 or remove 12 first ?

Hi Folks,

This is my first post here. I have been playing Aplha 12 - great game and great work !! I have doanted.

This may be a silly question - do I have to remove the Alpha 12 version first before I install Aplha 13 ? or just intall 13 over it ?

yes, if you use windows you must uninstall first.

Actually, the Alpha 13 installer will uninstall Alpha 12 for you. Just follow the prompts. (Windows version, I don't know about OSX and Linux)

On Linux the package manager will take care about it. So you don't need to think about it. Unless you've installed it from svn...but then you have read the trac/wiki article and obviously now how to update/recompile.

that right , i was forget. when in a future, the team can add a update patcher?

For linux 0AD 13 is just an update, so no uninstall. You want to remove saved games though as they will no longer work.

EDIT: saving games still works, loading saves from previous versions doesn't. Sorry for the confusion.
