For the header: I'd personally either extend the screenshot to cover the entire area of, hmm, I don't remember the word I'll post a quick screenshot to show what I mean:

That area within the red border on the screenshot. I'd either have the screenshot cover all of it (forgive the odd pixel here and there due to me being lazy and not lining up the stroke perfectly) or remove the "bent-around" parts. At the moment it looks a bit too much like two different designs imho.

Sure, but I am thinking ahead a little. We have a wishlist of significant rendering features that aren't implemented yet. (normal maps for terrains, distance fog, specular) Some tax graphics cards more than others, but as we continue to add more rendering features and more gameplay features performance will continue to go down slightly. And the Nvidia GT cards are kind of like the "premium" version of that series of cards, so much so that they perform better than the budget cards of the next series in line. So, an 8800 GT performs better than some of the lower-end 9 series cards.

I agree. For one thing it uses newer tech. It's also "cleaner" than our old 0 A.D. site that's been Frankensteined over the course of multiple years. I think we should take a cue and not make our new 0 A.D. site too "themey" and focus on cleanliness of presentation. On the .de site I like the slidey animated links on left.

I feel the same way. Portuguese is the 7th most spoken language on the world (big majority being brazilians like me) and we don't have much options on our language. Partly because of the image outsiders have of the Brazil: Our capital isn't Rio nor Buenos Aires (it is Argentina's), is Brasilia. We speak Portuguese, not Spanish. We don't have monkeys neither any exotic creatures as pets, it's illegal even to have peacocks;

Hope in future we have our desired confort...

Maybe some of you remember me. I had to stop my site, because i lost my job and started my own business, which was very hard because i needed all my time building up my business. I decided to took the site offline, but it will be back within the next few days i think. I never forgot this project and you guys, i sometimes visited this forum to see what is going on. Today i played a while, now on OS X 10.6.8, sound is not working here, but ok. I wonder why it is not possible to play in a window or leave the game for a while to check some mails, is there any trick?

Unfortunately switching fullscreen is not possible on OS X, due to some weird behaviour. Sound may arrive soon to Macs, some people are currently testing this

Alt+tabbing out and into the game works in general at least, there might be some Mac specific issues that makes it not work though. The switching from fullscreen to windowed while running doesn't work as dvangennip said, but it should be possible to set the game to windowed via the config file per the instructions in: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Manual_Settings

Website is online back again, i switched from Joomla to e107, Joomla still got too much trouble with spam and hackers, e107 is way smaller and faster than Joomla, i did some work on the default design and changend a few things, but it's still clean and simple

Would it be possilbe to make it a dual-language wiki? There's already a somewhat well developed wiki at http://0ad.wikia.com/wiki/0_A.D._Wiki . It would be nice if we could get the two of them together.

Well, the problem is, i don't want to depend on services like wikia, i'm an "old-school webmaster" and want to have the full control of my websites and things which are happening there. So i pay some money for the server. I could do Backups the way i need them, if users say "Hey, could you do XY on this site?" i can say yes oder no that's not a good idea and so on, this is why i don't like free services.

A dual-language wiki, i don't think that there is a big need for it. German people will rather look in the german wiki, and well, english speaking people won't use the german one, so why take the people away from their knowing wikis to route them to a new one which could be confusing for them? I don't know if there are much english fansites, it would make more sense that the english sites work togehter to get one great wiki, and the german ones (well, i've got the only one at the moment but visitors are growing fast, so i think there could be a real good community in a few months) should make their own too. Don't misunderstood me, i am very cooperative to those ideas and helping the community, but i think putting wikis together is the wrong way to start.

We all could do something epic to the community, if we make a list of all known fansites so that the admins could watch the other pages and cooperate together; so they are able to look at fresh news from other sites and tell them their own community like "Our partners from xyz.tld found something really great in 0 A.D. ...". So there would be a great network which would be very effective.

Hello again,

some bad news. After the site was flooded with spam from spam-bots i decided to close the site. At the moment, i have not the time to work on the site, i started my own business and got a lot of work to do now (what is great and good for me, but noch for my freetime...). In two days, the spambots created over 12.000 articles in the wiki presenting things like viagra and some other pills you don't want to use I did not play 0 A.D. for about three months now, so you see i really got no time for it. I can't say when time looks better, so i decided to close the site down because i can't do some work on it to keep it nice and clean. Anyway, i just want to tell you this and say thank you for your support, i will stay here in this forum, and maybe in future i could promote the game in germany in other ways, let's see what will be possible.

I still have an idea how to do it, but i need the developers ok to do that. I repair/sell computers, laptops and so on, i could install 0 A.D. on the new machines and tell the people "Look, a fantastic game and it's free for you, just enjoy your new machine by testing it with this nice game!", also i could link from my homepage (www.pc-exakt.de) to you, telling my visitors what this game is and how cool it is. But i need your ok to do that. I know it's not much, but that is all i could do for 0 A.D. in the moment, hope you understand

Personally I would not recommend disseminating the game too widely at this point, as discussed before. Outside the usual open source / modding circles, people don't distinguish between games that are "under development" and games that are "done". So if their first impression of the game is that it is slow and full of bugs, that is how they will continue to remember it (if they bother remembering it at all).
