Obskiuras Posted Monday at 22:02 Report Share Posted Monday at 22:02 I had an idea that you might like: If you capture an enemy militar building, you can recruit units of that civilization as mercenary units paying with metal and you can recruit only mitilar units that your faction don´t have as mercenaries. For example, if you are using Spartans faction and you capture a iberian barrack from your enemy, you can recruit iberian swordmen from that barrack for maybe... 100 metal. . If you capture a enemy workshop from Romans, then you can recruit a balista as mercenary units for maybe... 300 metal.
Classic-Burger Posted Monday at 22:53 Report Share Posted Monday at 22:53 Another thing I want to work on. But my idea goes with Delenda Est's idea of the mercenary camps. I have also thought about this idea of releasing mercenary units and, in some cases, adapted special units.
real_tabasco_sauce Posted yesterday at 16:45 Report Share Posted yesterday at 16:45 This is kind of already the case with certain civs/buildings, like the carth mercs. However, I think it should be made consistent unless there's some huge balance issue (like multiple discounts leading to 10 metal mercs).

Classic-Burger Posted yesterday at 17:12 Report Share Posted yesterday at 17:12 It will be difficult for you to sell the idea that way. The issue of balance always hinders innovation.

There were civs in ancient time that like Mongols , who kidnapped engineers to build siege engines.
Obskiuras
In this way, certain buildings become more valuable and players will be forced to protect them even more, adopting the strategy of destroying them themselves to prevent their enemy from capturing them. Classic-Burger
The capture system needs to be improved first, as it hasn't received many changes since A16. There should be a cooldown and an assimilation process. 2 hours ago, Obskiuras said: There were civs in ancient time that like Mongols , who kidnapped engineers to build siege engines. The Dacians learned a little about making siege machinery from the Romans.
