Jeru
Ladies and gentlemen, two shots of fog of war, one of a lioness and one of a lion:
k776
Excellent work with the FOW. Now all it needs it victory conditions, and you have a great multiplayer game of this type! Plus some basic AI, diplomacy tools, and speed improvements, and you'll quickly overtake AOE 1 and 2 in terms of completeness.
fcxSanya
k776, about victory conditions: I implemented the simplest "conquest" victory condition in my patch (see http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/565). It isn't reviewed and not added to trunk yet, but if you are using the svn version you can apply the patch to your copy of source code, rebuild the project and playtest this patch right now
Arthur_D
Yay for the Lion King!
TheSlider
Does FOW need to have sharp edges or could there be a setting to round them up a bit (cutting out triangles)?
Jeru
TheSlider, we intend to round them as we continue to develop the game.
amanica
nice! But why is all the lion tails pointing straight back?
Shield Bearer
no animations yet
omicron1
Ok, I might be able to handle some of the animating. I've done a bit in Blender, so if those lions are in a .blend compatible format, could ya send them my way/direct me to where they are in the source tree? Shield Bearer
i still have to edit the lion a bit, but the lioness is ready for animating...not entirely, i haven't boned it...i hate boning Lioness.zip

feneur
Ah, the trouble of using the forum software for the website (We're in the process of changing that, so things like this shouldn't happen in the future)This link should work better: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.p...pe=post&id=2626EDIT: And this of course: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.p...pe=post&id=2627

omicron1
Ok, any specific guidelines for rigging/animating? (Bone count, animations required, animation length, etc?
feneur
Some info here: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/ArtDesi...ument#Animation though that doesn't answer all your questions I'm afraid. I hope Michael or Amish will be able to fill you in on the rest
omicron1
Lion has been rigged. I'm going to make an "idle" animation of 30 frames, then upload the blend so y'all can try it ingame.

omicron1
I'm guessing the other needed animations are: 1x run2x attack variations2x die1x walkPossibly also an "eating" animation if you want it to interact with other animal NPCs. feneur
Amish told me (it was late in India, so he didn't have time to write up a reply here) there were some issues getting the animation into the game, and while he's investigating them further he asked me to tell you to wait before doing any more animations. To avoid you having to redo things it's probably best.
omicron1
Got it. I'd just made a running animation, so much to do still.
