NOXAS1
Just wondering if it wouldnt be too hard to implement can you make it so that if a army is stuck in a corner and the enemy is closing in they become desperate harder to kill. Kill more and actually use there fists if a weapon breaks. If you add weapons breaking after alot of use. I just thought it be cool and well it make last stands more interesting in multiplayer
formlesstree4
I believe Age Of Empires III incorporated something similar to this in the fact that if enemy units got to close, the unit swapped to melee attacks if they were ranged. buggy123
Yeh, archers and such should be able to switch to small daggers or something when they go into hand to hand fighting instead of shooting at point blank. BurningSushi460
I don't know, if a mean old Celt gets near me would I attempt to poke him to death with a butter knife or loose a fully-drawn arrow in his face at point-blank? Mythos_Ruler
More likely a ranged soldier would just run away. Hence, currently all ranged units have a minimum range, so that they run away if their targets get too close (like skirmishers in AOK or ranged units in RTW). buggy123
Oh...extremely vulnerable to cavalry then...
Mythos_Ruler
Yeah, that's basically the reason cavalry is so effective against ranged units.
