Apomonomenos
Now that I learned that there won't be ages in the game like AoM and AoK, I was wondering if a player has to start out building a type of building that leads to unlock another building, or can a player just build a wonder when he just starts? Villi
The game will have tiers in form of "phases", which I imagine will work pretty much the same way as the ages in the "Age of ..." games. One thing I wonder though is if the phases will be global or seperate for each territory. Justinian
From what I know the phases system is ages in disguise...
Apomonomenos
So there will be Ages? Mythos_Ruler told me that there won't be ages. OK, so I kinda asked him, but he only said no, so their might be Ages or "Phases".
Silver
Phases make more sense and it probably will be fairly similar to ages, but then again, what isn't? Without phases or ages games would be less fun and much faster.

Aeros
Try Company of Heroes. Excellent RTS, no ages or phases.
Silver
Try Company of Heroes. Excellent RTS, no ages or phases.Company of Heroes works because of the time period it focuses in on, how resources are acquired, etc...
Kimball
There are no ages, in that each civilization is 'frozen' in time. There are phases, however, that are based on the size and age of your city rather than the age of your civilization. The larger the city, the more it is capable of. Justinian
So if you have 'x' houses, 'y' military buildings, and you have been around for 'z' time, you can Phase Up.
Kimball
Sort of, except the 'phasing up' is automated. It's not like in AoM where you physically have to buy an advancement upgrade.

Villi
It's excellent. It does have tiers though, they're just not as important as in "age of ..." etc.I'd like to repeat my question; are the phases global or seperate for each territory? MrEmjeR
they are realtive to every building.there are no straight upgrades for ages.by ages upgrade the buildings change in one time to another building. not very realistic. lol we are now disuessing about the proporition between the characteristics of a RPG and the realistic of the game. Apomonomenos
Just played it, it's really graphic. But if you play as the Nazis, they have ages.Great, now I'm addicted.
Cassador_Chris
CoH is really realistic. Excellent graphics, excellent sound, fully destructible environment, realistic and strategic combat, etc. etc. Only bad thing about the game was the lack of diversity. You could play as the Germans or the Americans. (or in the expansion, the Germans and the British). It would have been nice to have played with the Japanese and Russians, and it would have been nice to have a greater diversity of landscapes.
