Newbie Question re: Permanent Ceasefire

Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums and to 0 A.D. in general. So far, the game is really cool and I'm amazed that it's available for free. Cheers to all the developers for all the hard work they've clearly put into this. I just have one quick question about a mechanic that I'd really like to see in-game but haven't been able to determine if it already exists. Is there a way to toggle a permanent ceasefire on and off from within an active match, either with a cheat code, a mod that adds a clickable checkbox to the Diplomacy Menu, etc? I realize this probably sounds like a bit of a lightweight question if you're a veteran player who likes the challenge of beating the clock; but, when you're new to the game like me, getting attacked before you have a chance to gather resources and really build up your settlement can be a bit frustrating. Even the maximum 45-minute time limit of the ceasefire slider isn't really enough for me. I'd like to have option of doing all the building I want to do before the hostilities commence. Is this a functionality that already exists in the game or is it one that could be introduced fairly easily? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums.

I don't know about your ceasefire question, but there are other ways to get into the game. When starting a match, by clicking the cog you can set the difficulty and behavior of the enemy. You can also slow down time.

That should give you enough breathing room, but there's also guides on youtube and in other formats that can help you. Or just ask questions, I'm sure people will answer.

Yeah, I think all I can do is just play around with the different options and do a little research to see what works. At this point, I'm not really sure what questions to ask but, if I think of any, I'll definitely post them. In the meantime, if anyone has any other suggestions on how to alleviate the time crunch, I'd be interested in hearing them. I recently downloaded the "nogather" mod and that seems to help a fair bit. I still think a way to toggle ceasefire on and off during an actual game would be cool, so I'll just put it out there as a suggestion to the devs, and they can decide if it would be possible implement. Either way, great game and thanks for the responses.
