Bug report: Replays in Alpha 26 are incorrect, do not reflect actual gameplay

I've searched the forum, read the FAQ, and looked at Known Problems. I do not think this bug exists.

I've played the game several times against the AI. When I go back to replay, some times the replay does not reflect what happened. For example, I beat the AI, but the replay shows the AI beating me.

Platform is Linux (Manjaro) running Alpha 26.

Did you interrupt your game? If you play a game in more than one sitting you'll get a replay for each part and they don't get automatically joined.

Supposedly it's possible to merge those files but I haven't found someone to tell me how. (A broken frankenfile in your replays folder will crash the game.)

Sort of. Typically I fire up a game and save it right away (within 30 seconds). But I often just play all the way through, usually for about an hour.

The behavior I see is that the replay shows me merrily building my civilization, the AI doing the same. All is correct. But if the AI attacked first in the game, the replay version sometimes differs, with the AI taking over a bunch of buildings and then rampaging through my civilization. It's almost as if I stopped doing anything.
